Suppose you a fan of John Duddys face guard then?

Ward boxed beautifully after negating the early rounds, Ok the first few rounds are messy because he holds but that's his plan and it works wonders. After that he was sublime and it was a pleasure to watch.

Them two guys next week couldn't match him for skills if they tried. They are to overhyped fighters who Arum has decided to cash in on one and the winner he will use as a sacrificial lamb then get shot of.

If you look at my past posts i gave credit to ward for knowing how to work the system just like his idol bernard hopkins. I just said its boring as hell to watch which it is.
I never once said duddy is in the same league as ward in terms of skill. I just said duddy vs chavez will be more exciting than ward vs green. Which it will be.

:huh Have you read Barrys posts? Every Irish fighter beats anyone he gets compared too.

I'll always support an Irish fighter but I know when a fighter is limited and it really annoys me when people make fighters out as if they aren't without faults.

A bit like how a few Irish posters turned many posters against Lee they all talked about a world title before the Vera fight then he got beat and that was that now to half the board he is overrated and won't amount to much.

Maybe it's just me but how people react to fighters puts me off them sometimes, Maidana in the Kotelnik fight was unknown and not well supported then his win against Ortiz he becomes a great fighter who will never be outboxed. Maybe I'm just easily swayed but when i like a fighter i'll more than likely stick with them to the end.

Wasnt asking about the Miranda fight, it was the Kessler fight and if am right........Miranda is a bit of a swarming wild swinger so adopting the style he did in that fight was hardly a bad move, no ?

You employ your best way of getting a win, not the coolest way.

Does Ward fight every opponent as he has done tonight ?

Em, that's pretty much Green's modus operandi. He's not a volume puncher, he's a sharpshooter and he only lets his hands go if he knows the other guy's not going to do much. It's why his fights are utterly boring.

Over-training's not an excuse, Green's just not very good. It's shameful to see a fighter make no real attempt to even jab.

But, I don't think this tells us much about Ward. He was facing a guy who basically didn't throw back. I did think that Green might pose some problems early, but he didn't, so Ward had his way with him.

Just read a bit of the General Forum RBR on this fight, the difference to this one is hilarious.

Here's one breakdown of the 4th round.

Just page after page of people slating it for being a horrible fight and Ward being the new Ricky Hatton.

Greens one chance of winning was to create space and leverage to get his big shots in. Ward denied him that space.

What the heck was Tarver on about comparing Ward to Roy Jones? anybody feel he had a shocker in the booth all round?

Roy Jones? huh? really Antonio...Ward is not athletic and very fundamentally sound, as far removed from Roy as you'll see. In fact he fights just like Hopkins. shoulder and forehead lead in your chest to wear you down, holds and punches you, great on the inside with those short 6 inch punches etc That's Bernard not Roy. Actually it looks to me like Ward has studied a lot of Hopkins.

Then Tarver lambasts Green for being inactive and "making excuses". Pot, kettle, black comes to mind. This is the same Tarver that threw Buddy under the bus and came out with every excuse in the book after Hopkins trashed him.

I like Tarver on the mic, but he really had an off night. I think he just didn't wanna give Hopkins credit and i've notice he always mentions Roy probabily because thats who made his name.
