He is a bit overrated. He's the greatest heavyweight ever and heavy particularily in his day is the most high profile division, but he routinely finds his way into top 10 all time lists and there are a lot of lighter fighters more deserving. I bought a boxing news all time 100 the other day and he's at #2, just after Ray Robinson, which is far too high. The whole list shows a big bias towards heavyweights actually.

    Lewis has

    Holyfield 2x
    Klitschko
    Tua
    Mercer
    Tyson
    Rahman
    Ruddock
    Botha

It's really not that close. The only reason Foreman cracks the top 10 is because he won the belt when he came out of retirement. Moorer wasn't terribly good.

and most of the top 20 today will get murdered against the 90's BIg Boys.

    What's your point?

The 70's do tend to get a bit over rated, but the 90's was the perfect combination of size and brute strength along with skills and speed.

You can't judge by how well someone will do in 'another era' only by how well that person did during his era.
I mean say Wladimir was 26 in 1993 instead of 2003. So his 'Corrie Sanders' Moment will take place against someone like Ruddock, instead of given time to recover and rebuild, Wlad would have been fed in his very next fight to a young Lewis for Lewis's record padding.

Wlad would never have achieved full prime in the 90's. A lot of boxers benefit from the era they are in.

Floyd would never have went up to SWW in the 80's, Pac would not have even went up to WW.

Fixed but the rest of those wins are legit. :hey

Foreman accomplished a lot more than Lewis ever did.

Holyfield may have not been shot but was 37 and had just had been beaten up by Vaughn Bean who was supposed to only last 3 rounds.

Tyson did win two world titles and rise again to the top of the division in his comeback.
