I agree. Many boxing fans have said for a long time that he’s fundamentally poor with a very padded record. Then suddenly he’s going to pummel Fury. This is a fella who only had his first 10 rounder 24 fights in. 27 fights in when finally had his first 12 rounder. He’s struggled with the likes of Molina and Szpilka...but now he’s suddenly going to spark Fury with his first shot. 394 jabs Fury threw on Saturday. Granted they were against a pudding and most were hitting gloves, arms and thin air, but you can’t just walk in on someone who’s bigger, taller, with superior boxing skills who’s throwing jabs out like that. 37 shots landed on Fury on Saturday. All of them insignificant. Hardly shipping shots all night like some are making out.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Wilder pulls out of this. If we strip away all the American Hype, Wilder hasn't fought anyone of genuine World Level. The only one near - Ortiz, a Southpaw technical boxer (like Fury) gave him nightmares until his 45 year old body failed him. Technically Wilder is awful - people are saying, but can Fury outbox Wilder for 12 rounds; he doesn't need to - after about 4 or 5 rounds of getting played with, Wilder will be frustrated, loading up, swinging - which Fury can read all day long, and make the rest of the fight even easier. Wilder doesn't have the ability to set traps and set his power shots up, it's the littler things that only boxers will know; the foot movements, body shape, twitches, feights, timing etc - look at BJS/Lemeiux as an example! I think Tyson could make this look like a total miss-match - he could even walk Wilder onto an uppercut as he comes swinging in and take him out!
Voted sceptical. I don't believe it happens this year. Either gets announced for early 2019 or postponed until then due to an 'injury'
I know Fury is rusty but i can't see Wilder KOing him TBH. He will frustrate and box Wilder's head off.
