I understand that Wlad can fight whoever he wants when the opponent isn't a mandatory, but I honestly believe that his legacy will suffer if he fights this guy before he has , at least, beaten a consensus top 30 HW. Briggs has always been great at padding his record, but he needs a legit win to get this opportunity IMO.

Why Wlad fights plenty of undeserving fighters. This is interesting at least with all the clowning that Briggs has been doing.

I mean Mormeck and Lepai? Really?

I thought Wlad had already said that the only way he would get a shot if he got into position for one, and that he's not going to reward Briggs for stalking and annoying him.
So Byrd can train Briggs all he wants, Shannon has to earn the fight the hard way and it's pretty unlikely he makes it.

Doesn't matter who trains him, he's still going in there for a payday and getting sparked.

LOL. The waves in the water have more personality than Vlad.

Actually I think he's pissed off Wlad to beat him in the worst possible way. By NOT fighting him and making him $$$$.

Yeah, because Byrd (who got KO'd twice by Wlad) has the blueprint on how to beat him.

Agree but from a money perspective there aren't many former champs left to fight in the heavyweight scene. Plus Briggs can't be that expensive and he's willing to actively promote a fight.

Briggs may be 40+ now but he's not much older than Wlad. If Wlad keeps fighting a few years then he'll likely fight the likes of Liakovitch, Briggs, Tarver, Stiverne etc. Recognizable names for the fans who don't present a threat to Wlad.

If fans don't like this kinda **** then they should encourage boxing to get organized.

I don't see why Wlad would be interested in this fight other than to shut Briggs up. It does nothing to aid his quest on becoming the only 4 sanctioned bodied HW champ in history nor is it the biggest money fight that can be made. I can't see this fight happening.

If this fight ever happened this would be the worst farce Wlad ever had a part in. It would only be acceptable if 40+ year old Briggs became a mandatory which will likely never happen.

    :deal

Wlad has a limited # of fights left before he plans to retire in 2016....including trying to get his hands on the WBC strap.......wasting his time on giving Briggs a second payday after Vitali beat him within an inch of his life isn't the best idea....and wouldn't do anything for his legacy.
