There's a reason why Wlad is coming up on 20 consecutive defenses.

    agreed
i was pretty much against giving a title fight to a guy that hasnt beat a ranked fighter in over a decade. But when look whats out there it wont hurt to squeeze him in.

Just dont mention chagaev being option, he is a fat ass now and has beaten no one and wlad will trash even worse this time...that would be a waste

i mean im used to them giving all the boxers from the countries the WBA based is surrounded by ridiculous rankings....especially Colombian and argentine fighters..
Milton Nunez and some guy that fought Kessler in a "mandatory" were the worst ive seen. both WBA fake contenders, i could list 20 more

Joe Louis had a bum of the month club... There's a reason he has the record for most/consecutive defenses. Joe defended against guys far worse than anyone Wlad has defended against, FACT :deal

I really hope this fight doesn't happen.... There are much better American opponents out there for Wlad to face. Why not Cunningham???? Jennings would be ideal, but he obviously wants to fight the winner of Stiverne/Wilder and not Wlad.

everyone heavyweight has their shi.t defenses ...except for Haye..all of his were pathetic

Ali - Richard Dunn, Alfredo Evangelista,
Holmes fought scott frank, scott lefoux
Lewis fought that mohawk guy that sucked, and lionel butler in a defense
Holyfield fought Vaugn Bean in a defense
    they all do it

The funny thing is, he can be # 2 by early 2015

    1. Luis Ortiz
    2. Bryant Jennings
    3. Deontay Wilder
    4. Kubrat Pulev
    5. Lucas Browne
    6. Travis Kaufman
    7. Shannon Briggs

    6. Kaufmann hasnt fougt nearly one year, with Briggs next win, they can let him pass Kaufmann..

    4. Pulev got the beating of his life last weekend, so he will fall behind Briggs in the rankings by december.

    3. Deontay Wilder will fight for the WBC Belt, if he looses he will go down the rankings, if he wins he is as WBC champ out of the WBA rankings.

    2. Jennings is the most likely next opponent for Wlad. The winner of Fury/Chisora will get the mandatory pos. in the WBO, so i think Wld will do a voluntary first in early 2015 befor getting the mando done.
So if Jennings looses, he will go down the ranks

and tada.. we have a Shannon Briggs around 2-3 in the WBA by spring 2015 :deal

    yeah no shi.t
they are too dumb to notice that.

Briggs who has done nothing to earn it is a "pathetic fight"
Wilder who has done even less is someone is apparently "afraid of"

Yes those 2 were not worthy of a title shot either but the difference is fighters now are far less active. Ali also fought Young and Norton the same year he fought Dunn and Coopman.

Wlad for the last 6 years has only fought once or twice per year. When only having a maximum of 2 fights a year fans expect those fights to be against quality opponents not a shot 42 year old who hasn't beaten a name opponent in 8 years.

If Wlad was fighting 3 or 4 times a year you would expect the odd unworthy opponent but not when you only fight twice a year and there are better opponents available. No reason why Wlad can't face his WBO mandatory a few months early and fight the winner of Chisora/Fury.

Fights with Solis, Takam, Charr, Cunningham, Browne, Szpilka, Chagaev, Ortiz, Scott, Mansour would all be better opponents than Briggs. Briggs isn't even in ranked top 50 by Boxrec, there are literally that many better possible opponents. This is even worse than Leapai at least Leapai was a mandatory and had just beaten Boystov.

I hope they don't make this fight it would be a low point in Wlad's career especially as people have suggested interest in this fight has been engineered to give Wlad an easy defence.

Quit crying into your pillow over Pulev getting his ass handed to him. Must be hard to save up your allowance so long, just to lose it all on one fight.....but thats what happens when you don't know **** about boxing kid.
