London was 1 of 5 fights for Ali that year.

    Frazier was 1 of 4.

Was Hide ever the HW Champion?

    Not the same is it.

Without bothering to look into specifics, were any of those guys 43without a meaningful fight in fhe better part of a decade? Did any of those guys take such a beating the last time they tried stepping up they ended up in the hospital and didnt fight for nearly 4 years? Use your head man and start thinking straight. This would e EASILY one of the worst if not the.worst tile defense in history.

He would still make money from sparring and it wouldn't be a fight it would be an execution.

Off the back of my head Frazier was a 10 fight novice, Daniels had only fought a handful of fighters with winning records, London was nothing more than domestic level.

There are loads of fights worse than Wlad vs Briggs throughout the history of the division.

And let me say I as a Wlad fan do not want to see the fight either.

Let's go, Champ! Let's go, Champ! I do what you do, Champ! I eat what you eat, Champ! lol

This fight is going to happen. All these Cannon Antics are having effect on people. I have a feeling this will go down in 2015.

Briggs is a shot to pieces fighter who hasnt beaten a contender in 10 years. While i dont condone Frazier for Holmes or London i think its better to fight guys either on their way up or at least not 43 and half brain damaged as it is. Hell, id rather see him fight a Pianeta type fighter again. Glad to know youre not condoning this if it happens. Unfortunately 72% of german fans think it should happen and that is a problem with this sport.

No one in their right mind (who likes our sport) likes a fight against Briggs. Its appalling. I'm still hoping HBO will veto this but then again who knows maybe they're the one pushing this trying to get an American back in the ring for the lineal title.

Yes he will. It was a done deal by the time Briggs showed up and "threw a shoe" at Wladimir during his (Wlad's) training for Leapai. That and everything else was staged, in my opinion.

It's very possible that Wlad wants Briggs more than Briggs wants the payday. K2 really, REALLY wants that Briggs KO on "their" resume and I believe they have financed Briggs's selling of the fight over in Germany.

As champion, Wlad has the right to force Briggs to legitimately earn his keep. He could say "no" to the farce and uphold the integrity of the HW championship. No one in the boxing world takes Shannon Briggs seriously. But Wladimir Klitschko has to fight Briggs now because his promotional company (K2) has invested too much into Briggs at this point.

Hopefully he'll get him out early and everybody goes home happy. Wladimir can not afford to be anything but impressive against a stationary, one round fossil like an old and shot Briggs. The Klitschko detractors have given Wlad **** for a long while. This time, Wlad has chosen (or will be choosing, depending on what you believe) his worst opponent in ages. Those people have some ammunition now.

In this day and age --one when the internet is so prominent-- the whole Wlad/Briggs fiasco establishes a dangerous precedent for professional boxing.
