If a champion is active and beating his top contenders than if he wants to defend against a complete no-hoper I don't see a big problem with that.

Say Wlad defended 4 times next year and 3 of those were Jennings, Fury, and the Wilder-Stiverne winner than facing Briggs would be fine to me as the fourth fight.

If Wlad was active and fighting the best he would be deserving of an easy one. Briggs has some name value and apparently some want to see it so he'd fit.

The problem isn't just that Briggs is shot and undeserving its also that Wlad doesn't fight enough to wast one on Briggs.

If Wlad wants to fight a guy who will talk up the fight on HBO and get him some attention in the USA then he ought to look at Tarver (should he get past Banks) or Arreola. As others have mentioned, even Ruiz Jr. would be better than Briggs. Briggs may have once been lineal champ but fighting Briggs now does Wlad's reputation more harm than good.

Huck at least would bring it and it would end in a memorable KO that the HBO audience would like. Jennings represents a bit more of a threat but it would still be a lopsided fight and not as fun as watching Huck or Arreola or Tarver get KOed.

I will never understand why anyone without the last name Briggs would want to see that fight.

Anyone with a partial brain knows the outcome.

I would rather see Wlad fight 40 other heavies before I'd find this fight remotely interesting.

What a horrible fight if it happens. A complete and utter farce.

Possibly worse than Alex Leapai and that's saying something.

I'd rather see Briggs-Slice. Honestly, Briggs looks awesome destroying bums, but can he do that with a top 5, top 10? I wish he could, but we all know the answer to that. Briggs vs Mansour, Spilka, Arreola, Cunningham, Fury, e5c are fan friendly fights. Bad thing is he'd NOT be favored to win in most of those. He needs to be on a hotstreak to get the world's attention. He needs to make every fight a 4-5 round fight TOPS, he's too old to be going more than that, Idc how pumped he thinks he is. He has the charisma to be a very popular champ, he's funny as hell too. But he should have the experience by now, he's no spring chicken.
