So I have read Wlad-Jennings is on for April. Jennings is probably one of the best, or maybe even the best, American heavyweight out of today. But fighting Jennings is a waste of time for the champ.

Jennings has got nothing to get Wladimir in trouble. He is featherfisted and unless you have outstanding skills (which Jennings doesn't have), Jennings won't win a minute in this fight.

I predict Wlad to drop him a few times and finish it in the fifth, sixth round after a boring one-sided fight.

Now, Shannon Briggs is shot. But the one thing the old men has is power. He will gas after two minutes in the fight against Klitschko, but at least he has power. Briggs got a punchers chance, which Jennings even doesn't have.

When Briggs and Jennings fight, Briggs would also have a punchers chance in the first round, but probably lose a 120-108 decision if he doesn't drop Jennings early.

I am not saying Wlad should fight Briggs, but Jennings is also a waste of time for the big man. He is no threat at all to Wladimir.

Shannon Briggs is a thing of the past. He was never a good boxer really. Always lacking on the defensive side. He should fight a few aged yet good boxers, such as Tarver or Mansour, before anyone will consider giving him a chance.

    He IS funny though.

    Both fights are abysmal.

Atleast Briggs brings comedy value i guess.

Jennings ins't ready yet for Wlad. He wouldn't be ready for Wlad for probably another year.

Briggs being a threat is banking on the fact that Briggs will come in without his asthma, and actually throw punches. As opposed to just eating leather, and posing. If Briggs comes in offensive minded, he does have some skill. He can do some things. He is also big and strong enough to not let Wlad hug him to death on the inside. But what are the chances of that Briggs even showing up?

Hopefully Briggs won't have a bicep tear this time around.

  8. Wlad has earned a "easy" defending of his title. I think the Briggs thing is good for comedy value & all actually.

Considering Briggs has a 0% chance against Wlad, he doesn't offer a bigger threat than anybody. This would be an abysmal fight.

Briggs has already had numerous shots and there are several guys who are more deserving and more relevant.
If he wants one last big payday, he needs to make himself a viable opponent and beat anyone(literally) in the consensus top 20 or force the issue and make himself the WBA mandatory(more likely).

Its a stupid fight for Vlad to take after Vitali dominated Briggs and Briggs has not fought anyone top 50 since. If Vlad thinks he is going right out and taking Briggs out that may be a mistake because Briggs is durable and can punch so Vlad can gas beating him. The problem here is that Briggs needs to beat someone in this decade to make himself worthy and no value vs risk

If Wlad wanted an easy defense it still shouldn't be Briggs who has fought no one. Until he does he can't be considered. Fres Oquendo would be more appropriate at least he still fights semi relevant competition.

Jennings is more FAR deserving of a fight than Briggs, Briggs shouldn't even be in the conversation as a potential opponent. It's quite disgraceful what Briggs is doing in my eyes, making a complete mockery of the sport, not only that, I think Jennings gives Wlad a "tougher" fight as well.
