    Briggs is taking the same path Rahman took a few years ago to secure his shot at the WBA "regular" title... Briggs will likely face these stiffs until he gets one last payday, I just hope it's not against Wladamir....

    Ustinov has a granite chin, I've watched a ton of his K-1 fights and have never seen him down. Think he was stopped by low kicks a couple of times, anyways his chin is proven. At this point Briggs would probably lose a decision to Ustinov....

    Briggs last good win was vs Ray Mercer in 2005

    He only Ko'ed Liakhovich 2006 because Liakhovich fought like an idiot in the last rounds.
    Since Vitali nearly killed him 2010 hes has done nothing to deserve a titlefight

    Oh, God, some people actually think Briggs deserves a shot?

    This is what's wrong with boxing!

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Wlad has Pulev next who you will tell us leading up to the fight is going to KO Wlad then when Wlad schools him and makes his face look like he went through the windshield of a car you will say the referee was paid off etc. then you will just start telling us some Glass Jawed bum like Fury or Price will beat him :rofl

    Horrendous fight. Even in this awful Heavyweight era, things haven't gotten this bad.

    I agree....Ustinov is a solid fringe contender, and a ranked name opponent.

    He fought the IBF eliminator vs Pulev and lost, but has come back strong over Tua and Perkovic.

    I say if Briggs wants a payday, K2 should offer it to him vs Ustinov. Let Shannon mow over a couple more cans, then step up vs Gavern, Ding, or Quezada which would greatly increase his world ranking, then if he beats Ustinov, he gets gifted a title shot, PROVIDING Wlad doesnt have other obligations, ie a mandate or an opportunity at becoming Undisputed.

    Also.....if Briggs takes these couple fights, true fights, and not just rollovers, he'll have fought a higher LOC thatn he had since his title shot vs Lewis, and if he can do it at 42, then he deserves a shot at the 39 yo Champion.:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

    If 42 yo Briggs, BEATS 40 yo Oquendo, and 35 yo Tiggy, and 38 yo Maddalone, then Briggs has every right to be considered a top 20 HW worthy of a voluntary defense on name value and CV alone.

    And F/U nobodies.....

    Oquendo was 2 time world title challenger with probably more quality wins overall than Briggs has.....

    Tiggy is a tough luck fighter who happens to be a top 30 if he decides to come back to boxing after having been prematurely stopped by Mitchell......a rematch would prove deadly for Mitchell.....Tiggy KO1 Mitchell if they rematched.

    Tiggys resume is also on par with Briggs, and if Briggs lured him back into the ring and won, along with quality wins over 40 yo Oquendo and 38 you Maddalone, then Briggs could qualify as a decent voluntary, just like Mormeck did.:deal

    I'd like to see Wlad vs. Guillermo Jones, just to see that cheating POS get his ass kicked.
