Sounds like Briggs has finally gone crazy for real.

 

If you watch the video of the "confrontation" at the restaurant carefully, you will see how briggs PULLS the security fatass after him as he is supposedly "being forcefully removed" from the place. Except there is no one big or strong enough to push him away, as the only other guy in the video is a scrawny kid less than half of briggs size.

 

Some of you will remember Corey Phelps was KOed in round one by Don George in 2007.

He was also KOed in round two at light heavyweight by Tommy Karpency in 2009.

Phelps does have a win in his last fight, against a 3-24 fighter who had lost 10 fights in a row and lost 14 of his past 15.

The fight with Shannon Briggs will be Phelps' first fight at heavyweight.

Lol. A pure tomato can Briggs is fighting. Still would be incredibly funny if he got caught with something by surprise. All the crap spewing out of his mouth about fighting Klitschko

 

He turned down an October fight will Alex Leapai, claiming to have a cut on his foot from the restaurant incident with Klitschko that would take some time to heal.

But now he's fighting in August.

He wants the softest, most risk-free route to a title shot and payday to retire on.

 

At least Briggs is active...

Briggs has done nothing to earn a shot at Wlad. I know that Wlad if he gets past Pulev, and I expect he will, will probably have time for two optional defenses before his next mandatory is due thanks to the delay in the Fury Chisora fight. I would expect one of those fights to be a unification bout with the WBC champion. The other defense which will be his next fight after his current one, should be a softer fight that is financially viable. Briggs fits the mold but he needs to fight a live body first. Otherwise I would much rather see Wlad defend against a Steve Cunningham or Tomasz Adamek than Briggs.

 

Best optional defense money wise will be Povetkin 2.
