in case my point wasn't clear in that post... my point is... if Hatton can rock Paulie and make him fear getting hit, when Paulie went toe to toe with Cotto for 12 rounds who apparently has monstrous power... how will Manny cope when he takes one of those right hands when he in the past was rocked by JMM?

 

JMM appeared to hurt Manny with body shots, which raises question marks for someone like Hatton who is a stronger more effective body puncher.

I stand corrected on the Morales fight. The last 2 of the trilogy were too boring for me.

Why would Manny be going backwards? Is that all he does? He doesn't sidestep? Remember, Manny is getting smarter and smarter the last few fights. Before Ricky can throw that left hook, he'll already be tagged 3-4 times anyways...and when everything clears, Manny's not infront of him.

 

The difference between JMM and Hatton is that JMM had most of his success fighting off the front foot against Manny although he is usually predominantly a counter puncher. Hatton is and always has been a pressure fighter who will fight off the front foot all night and i can't see Manny having the strength to push Hatton on the back foot and Manny doesn't fight well off the back foot. Also Hatton is one of the best body punchers in the business and Manny has never coped well with body attacks. In some respects i think Hatton could well be Pacmans kryptonite. But then in others i think the same of Manny with Hatton... Mannys accuracy and southpaw stance could be all the tools to cope with Hatton but i just don't buy into this whole 'Mannay is too fast, Hatton wont be able to find him' bollox that a lot of people on this site come up with... Manny was forced onto the back foot all night against JMM and Hatton is stronger than JMM and quicker on his feet so i'm slightly swaying towards Hatton.

Hatton will cut off the ring in the same way he always does... he cuts the ring off better than JMM does and Pac couldn't get away from JMM... i think you pac fans are blinded by the way he was able to dart in and out against his last 2 stationary opponents. Hell.... safety first Mayweather can look impressive darting in and out against a stationary Gatti but it that doesn't tell the full story does it?!

 

co-sign that sh## never made sence to me also. i prefer to believe that the calibre of fighters in the welterweight division is far stronger than in his division.

Ricky will be able to cut the ring off, but the problem is, the time he is able to "cut off" he'll be tagged again and again. In this case, you are underestimating PAC's single most impressive ability and advantage, his speed. And he's not all speed, one of those 4 straight tags packs heat.
