I know, we're on classic so obviously we've All got a love of the older boxers, but I really love the pre 50 s going back to the jack Johnson era. It's raw and no fakery, they weren't that concerned about a perfect record,in fact very little had perfect ones. You had duds of course but the majority of fighters were real and took the fighting seriously.
I think that the fighters from '30 to around '90 are the most appealing to me. Lots of talent, especially at the lower weights, and the way that most of them fight is just so exciting. I like the way that fighters used to swing as they fought, kinda like they were dancing- The looseness is some kind of a lost art.
