Boxing News celebrated its 100th Anniversary last Friday.

I have subscribed since 1989 when it cost 70p per week.

However I picked up an a 1979 edition from someone I knew.

    Anyone got any older editions?

How much is issue 1 worth?

    What do you mean?

The first edition of BN came out in September 1909

I have one at my Dads from 1985-1986, I can't remember the exact date but it has a feature on Joey Olivo in it so I'd guess its towards the end of '85 around the time of his title fights with Choi and Muh.

    Hello,

I have loads and loads of old boxing news here. Probably around 10 - 15 years old. I also have the boxing monthly "Search and Destroy" edition featuring Benn versus GMan.

If anyone want's me to post a list, I will dig them out.

    Regards

My directory enquiry days tell me that's a west central London postcode. I think it's British and the 'W. Auckland' bit is to do with something else above it that I can't quite make out, Dan:good.

"In 1935, Millier departed and the owner replaced him with Sydney Ackland, who had previously worked as John Murray’s assistant editor and had been taught by him. World War 2 brought many changes as first Sydney, then replacement Stanley Nelson, contributed to the war effort. Murray made a popular comeback as editor but ill health forced him to step down in 1941."

Very nice haul, Dougie:good. If I had stuff like that I'd frame it. Some of those mags would look amazing up on a wall, IMO.
