Do you think FW is trying to build these guys up as a brand?all three of them never seem to get refferd to by frank/some media individually but as the 'Olympians' ... and there is no way that the first card from birmingham (the one wich features skelton/rogan) is not going on sky ppv,in the current age we live in with SN being PPV happy they are going to want to milk this
Sounds like a stupid move to me; can't see all three making it to even Euro level; somewhere along the line one, two, or all three are gonna be derailed; it would be better to build them up as individuals. Of course, if one turns out **** they can always seperate the other two as distinct entities and move along in that way. The "Olympians" tag could be some marketing thing to use at the start of their careers, before they branch out as individuals.
i think that's exactly what it is, promoting 'the Olympians' appeals to joe public, appose to saying 3 young amateurs coming through are the next ali etc
that;s what happened with the world champs team of 01. Except Haye, the big names pretty much went to Fight Academy. as you would have expected from watching those ams, the only two who ended up making it were Haye and Froch. I think any of us on here could have predicted that they would at least become major world championship challengers, even if not champs.
Also, i think Gavin will be go to the very top of the game. i'm not so sold on sutherland, De Gale and certainly not Jeffries.
That would only work for the beginning of their fledgling careers. As their ego and individual personalities come to the fore they will demand to headline events. I think BJ could be kept under the radar and given time to develop that way, but I can't see DeGale or Gavin settling for it.
TBH (apart from maybe De Gale) Gavin has the most amateur style, and may have more problems adopting to the pro game. Conversely, Sutherland seems to possess the best pro-style; I think he will be fine to a certain point.
Interesting, I've heard a few people say that about Gavin. I think he has obvious talent, and throws nice punches in bunches. I think his power will develop at pro level, summat I doubt about de gale. It's odd though. Haye, Froch and Khan were the only brits ams of the past 10 years I would have put money on reaching the top, and I still feel Khan will at least end up a world title challenger (more than just a manufactured shot that is). Mitchell I might have gambled on.
yeah i think billy Joe will do the best out of the bunch.....that if he stays discipline and dedicated....not sure about him turning over with is am coach though. degale comes over has a complete knob head .frankie couldn't even make weight for the olympics heard he like the white stuff aswel.
err the Olympians???? Since when was Frankie Gavin an Olympian? Qualifying for the Olympics doesn't make you an Olympian unless you actually compete in them.
