I never said he'll look great vs anyone.

What I said was, if he gets to AJ before Fury does, he'll be a unified titlist and will make Fury look like Valuev.

Crawford & Canelo are very talented, but their resumes (especially TC’s) are well below par.

    Kovalev
    GGG
    Jacobs
    Lara
    Cotto

How is that subpar? It's literally the best in the sport outside of Pacquiao and González

Kov had just been in a war with Yarde, and he’s on his way or big time.

    GGG is old.

    Jacobs was a good win.

    He lost the Lara fight.

    Cotto was a good win.

I don’t know which is worse - “campaigning at HW for years” and he only holds two wins over the same opponent, or not having the greatest debut in your new division.

Hmm, that’s a tough one! Zzz.

That’s my point. Usyk unified a division. Usyk is just as talented as those guys, probably more. Why shouldn’t he be able to step up and challenge for a belt? Those guys were already very large, fighting smaller guys. They had to step up to fight guys their own size. Usyk is fighting bigger guys with no hydration nonsense. It’s a tougher road but it’s what he wants.

When was he supposed to be calling him out? TF's been preparing for bigger fish for a couple years now. I love Usyk, but these posts do more harm than anything.

Usyk is still a nobody at heavyweight, he hasn't proven anything in this weight class yet.

He was a prospect and an undefeated contender with a couple of decent wins who got a shot, hardly a unique story throughout boxing history. He, like Usyk, was in no position to *command* a title shot, but his getting one was hardly scandalous given the state of the division at the time.

It's exactly the same for Usyk. He's fine to get a title shot based on his achievements at CW, and he's also fine not getting one given that he has accomplished almost literally nothing in the division.

Trying to turn him into some HW bogeyman is why this argument is silly.

Can you name any top 20 heavyweight that Usyk has actually beaten in the professional ranks? I’ll wait

Expect Fury to take notice of Usyk when Usyk does something to put himself high up in the queue for heavyweight title contention. He's fought Chazz Witherspoon. He's now injured again, with his projected next bout being against a gatekeeper. Let's not be so prone to fits of hyperbole.
