The one guy sky should have gotten rid of was Adam Smith

The fact he's gone into commentry tells you,what is his actual JOB ? Barney Francis will make the key descions weather it's a PPV Fight as he is the one Ultimatly responsible for anything that is Outputted on Sky Sports.What the hell does Smith actually do ? Him being a 'expert' is comparable to a Hardcore Boxing Fan watching Boxing on the TV for 20 Years straight,does that make the Fan a 'expert'.Adam Smith is a POSH suit not a commentator that is a difference

 

Because people dont watch shows at 5am in the morning,SIMPLE.The Rights fees it costs Sky to buy a fight is not cheap,if only 80 thousand people watch it,what is the point of spending it ?

 

Trust me Haye is a conman,but is a very intelligent one,he brilliantly marketed and sold the first fight well that he dosent need to know for the second one,can take a backseat.It also makes me think more why would Bellew hate Haye,when Haye has helped him make life changing money ? Vice versa also,but Haye played a bigger role with his experience of being in PPV Fights

 

The funny thing is AJ was also at that event to drum up more intrest.When was the last time Sky had a Successful Matchroom PPV show without having AJ mentioned or indirectly part of it ? Brook v Golvokin maybe,even then that was one sided and another mismatch like Canelo-Khan

 

As the sky domestic shows are so far apart, can't they fly someone over from the states, like channel 5 used to do with al Bernstein . Malignaggi , Atlas, Bernstein, anyone's better than smith, Nelson, Froch etc.

 

Just say to hell with Sky Sports boxing and sign up for BT Sport or Boxnation !

 

Alan Smith has the right voice for boxing commentary. For a small slender old man he brings much passion and colour with his coarse raspy bellows and hyperbolic declarations.

It's far better listening to someone putting in the effort with genuine excitement and enthusiasm than listening to a monotone bitter old drunk like Jim Watt slurring while covering fights belching out the obvious "I dun na know he needs to start picking up tha pace here eh"

 

Jim Watt was not bitter , not a drunk either and did a great job as a commentator I enjoyed all his work.

 

Can’t stand him. He’s full of cliched ****.
I hate it when he mentions a fighters “claaars.”
The trouble with Sky they pick their own ex fighter pals as pundits, instead of looking outside of the box.
There has to be some good knowledgable commentators out there.

The only problem is that it is so obvious that his lines are written down in advance ready for whatever outcome is coming.

There is nothing natural or informative at all - he will never be Sid Waddell's answer to boxing as he simply does not have the boxing knowledge, humour or respect of boxing fans.
