The only "challenges" for Usyk at heavyweight come from wildcards

Forget fury, Wilder or hrgovic those guys are not a threat.

What Usyk has to be careful of is guys most wouldn't give a chance.

2 examples I can think of

    1. Andy Ruiz Jr

I know people will laugh but if Ruiz was in good shape (for him), he would have some chance simply because Usyk would be in punching range at times, Ruiz would exchange, he has actually faster hands than Usyk, a solid chin himself and hits very hard, and it could get mildly interesting.

    2. Big Baby Miller

I have a morbid fascination with this fight just to see how Usyk deals with 300lb man boobs in his face, could be interesting.

I honestly think it's these types where the threat comes from just because I could see someone like that just having a style that on the night works well against Usyk, and it'd be unexpected also so there's the risk of complacency.

Usyk would bang Fury like a screen door in a tornado.

Anyone who doesn’t think that Fury is a challenge is kidding themselves

Fury himself knows he's not a challenge hence avoiding the fight for literally years

I think Fury harbours a grudge against Usyk for taking away his huge payday in a unification fight with AJ

People still delusional to think that only Fury fight is right for Usyk.

There are a lot of fighters whos style would give problems to Usyk.

Pressure fighters, body punchers, good engine fighters and very tall strong punchers.

I belive Bakole KO'ed Usyk in sparring.

Which is why Fury has taken out this frustration on the big payday that Joshua still represents... Oh no... I must've meant he took it out on Usyk for being the man who removed that opportunity from him... Oh wait...

Fury's had both options wide open on the table and swerved as hard as Wilder swerved Whyte and Povetkin.

Like Dubois KO'ed Joshua in sparring, lol.

Just because a fighter says he KO'ed someone in sparring doesn't mean it happened.

I rate sparring stories just between finishing stories and fairytales as far as believability goes.

I wouldn't be shocked if Bakole caught Usyk with a bodyshot or low blow and Usyk decided not to continue the spar. But that's very different from stopping Usyk in a fight where there are real stakes. Stylistically Bakole got dominated by Hunter and wasn't able to stop Yoka over the distance, in actual pro fights. That is much more meaningful to me than whatever happened in sparring. Journeymen have allegedly (and no doubt sometimes have) dropped/KO'd dominant champions in sparring but wouldn't be favoured to do so in pro fights.

Ruiz does not hit "very hard". He is a respectable puncher, but that's it.

The biggest test for Usyk is Fury.

Usyk is more intelligent, focused and disciplined than most historical champions, so upsets against overmatched opponents are less likely. He's also got a great chin, engine and determination, so again it's less likely. He would play with Ruiz (who couldn't beat a backfoot Joshua or backfoot Parker; the same Parker who was successfully walked down and outlasted over 12 by Whyte) and Miller wouldn't even make it to the fight because he'd fail a test.

Fury and Wilder would be the biggest threats, obviously. Hrgovic more than Ruiz too.

He said he put him down from a body punch which isn’t that hard to believe.
