Is Sugar Shane Mosley. He's the only fighter that commands enough speed, pressure and DUN DUN DUN defense to beat Floyd. As shown in his fight against Cotto, while Cotto hoped on his bike the last 4 rounds or so, Mosley was still able to apply effective pressure, so much so that the fight was seriously in doubt until it went to teh score cards for Cotto. Cotto simply is not fast enough to apply the amount of pressure it would take to beat Floyd, Floyd would pick him off constantly, and with Cotto's weak chin it might end up in a KO in the later rounds. Mosley on the other hand has a pretty strong chin, and good reflexes to dodge whatever Mayweather throws unlike Cotto who would just be a sitting duck to a much faster and talented fighter. If Floyd haters wanna see someone beat Floyd, Mosley is the way to go, not Cotto or anyone else in the Welter division.

Mosley is not anywhere near as fast as he once was, therefore now i doubt he would beat Floyd. Cotto has the best chance to beat Floyd, his chin is not as weak at WW Shane hits pretty hard and never realy hurt him.

Also it was the last two rounds Cotto "was on his bike" not 4. :good

Any of the WW champions would mean more than a rematch with Oscar.

In a rematch im almost certain that Mosley would beat Cotto.

Mosley fought stupid in the first fight and if he had actually boxed Cotto rather than fighting him like he did it would have gone Mosley's way.

I had it scored for Mosley anyway, but yeah it was tight.

Cotto got the better of the boxing exchanges I thought, based on his good jab.

if u think Cotto is just not fast enough to get to Floyd, but then we consider how frequently Cotto got to Mosley, donth u think Floyd would hit mosley even easier, and then add the wizardlike defence of Floyd in the Shane fight... i dont think Mosley is the best way to go. Floyd should fight Cotto, if he were to beat him and then retire, i dont think rational people would be complaining.

As would Margarito or Williams still. PBF's inability to fight any of the big guns at 147 is pissing me off.

I'm a fan of Mosley, but i think Mayweather's style is awful for him. Mosley is by no means a pessure fighter IMO. When he has to chase a guy down-and you know he'll have against PBF-he always looks ponderous, hesitant and confused to me. Plus, even in his prime he was susceptible to counterpunching, and there's hardly a better counterpuncher in the game right now than Floyd.
Mosley to me is guy who can outbox the fighters, but to my eyes has always had much more trouble outfighting the boxers.

3 years ago Mosley wins that fight going away easy. Cotto won the fight but barely.

Cotto boxed with Mosley, he fought off the back foot most of the time. The only reason he got to Mosley was win Mosley threw a punch, he would catch him in the exchange. Mosley is a step slower and it showed. Mosley was the pressure fighter in this instance, but Cotto never really hurt Mosley and the damage was clearly in Mosleys favor. Mayweather wouldnt have trouble boxing with Cotto, and Cotto isnt fast enough to apply the type of pressure that would make Floyd uncomfortable. Mosley however can match Floyds speed, he's still slower, and he can also apply the pressure. Cotto clearly lacks good defensive ability, and he wont be able to handle a counterpuncher like Floyd when he resorted to counterpunching himself to beat Mosley.

Floyd would destroy Williams. Quitana destroyed Williams with counterpunching and beating williams to the point of attack, a much faster Mayweather would pick Williams apart. Margarito is just simply overrated. Hatton 2.0

A genuine 147 version of Hatton - which would make him pretty ****ing dangerous actually. You know, if that were true. Which it isn't.

Floyd has still to prove he can beat any of todays top welters, I dont doubt he could. But he has already proven that he can beat Oscar so that is why those fights are more meaningful.

We can agree and disagree and i still respect ur opinion, but because i dont want to make this a repetitive thing i'll just say that Cotto won the Mosley fight because he was the better fighter that night, and Floyd should fight the second best welterweight right now, who is Cotto, but Mosley is still in the mix, and in the least he is the second biggest threat to Floyd.

I've said for a while that I think Shane can beat Mayweather but he's not the only one as I give Cotto an even better chance
