Mosley is not the same as he was before he will fall to hands of PBF for sure
its not ideal match up coz floyd is too fast for him and that could be a big factor...

Hello: Here goes my opinion. Cotto not only defeated Mosley easily but he also took the time to make an statement. He can box. He beat Mosley at his own game. How did he do it?? It's call timing. You don't have to be faster if you have better timing. LEts remember it was a unanimous desicion against a man who defeated De la Hoya TWICE. PBF victory against Oscar was a split one. Of course Mosley is not at his pick. But De la Hoya either. PBF has had priviledges that no other boxer ever had. Picking his opponents at convenience. How can you explain Hatton becoming Floyd's MANDATORY challenger?????? Hatton only had 1 fight on 147lbs and almost lost against Collazo. Somebody explain me how was that possible.
Williams will go far. But didn't have the experience needed to deal with a difficult fighter like Quintana. He didn't know what to do. Plus, he doesn't look comfortable at that weight anymore. Remind me of Cotto during his last 2 fights at 140lbs.
Margarito is an overrated fighter. No more to say about him.

Mosley would get thoroughly outboxed. His speed is gone, he is not an effective pressure fighter(coming forward and getting tagged is not effective), his workrate and tenacity are gone, and when the hell did he ever have good defense?

Floyd would handily beat Shane, but I guess being a Floyd fan, you'd rather see him fight a fading old man than a prime contender who has a style much better suited to beat him.

Mosley would give Floyd problems but Floyd would win

Mosely was easy to hit when he was in his prime and never was a good ring strategest. He always relied on his natural abilities to win fights. Sometimes that doesn't work. Sometimes you run into a guy who can nullify your speed and you need a little bit more to win. Mosely had his Forrest just like RJJ had his Tarver. That being said, Floyd is too smart to lose to Mosely. Shane is too easy to hit, and that would win PBF the fight.

Enough with Mosley. The champs at 147 are PBF, Cotto, Cintron and Quintana. Cotto has been a champion longer than the other two. If he has a chance or not, we have to see it in the ring. Why was Hatton a mandatory and Cotto hasn't????? Isn't a championship worth anything anymore???

I can't believe how stupid this thread is. The Cotto-Mosley fight was ridiculously close, END OF STORY. Nobody 'easily' beat the other fight. In your mind one of them might have 'clearly won', but if nothing else, they landed the EXACT same number of punches, and Mosley landed more power shots so don't even try to say Mosley easily won, or Cotto easily won.

Another thing, a couple of people have said "The Mosley from 3-4 years ago would have beat Cotto".

Well how can you say that? 3 years from the fight, Mosley was wasting his time at 154 where he was just not his usual self. Personally I think Mosley wasted all those years at 154, when he could have instead been doing well at 147. Mosley's career would seem much more impressive if after he took the DLH fight (which is the whole reason why he moved up to 147 instead of 140) he stayed at 140 and dominated there first, which he could have since his skills were at their peak!

Mosley is NOT really a boxer. He is a puncher who just HAPPENS to have decent hand speed. And these days his REAL handspeed is not even that good. He flicks out his jab really fast, and then when he feels like he can land it he follows it up with a right hand. Right now thats Mosley's game. He is not going to hit Floyd with a right hook, just not gonna happen.

And Mosley's defense? It was never all that great, he just had good reflexes. He should take a cue from Roy Jones and learn to PUT HIS DAMN HANDS UP. HE's very susceptible to straight right hands... which of course as you SHOULD know, is FLOYD's BEST PUNCH.

Mosley was a really good fighter, and very talented at his peak, but he's FAR from his peak, and could not beat Floyd.

    STFU.....

how were you scoring....by how loud the crowd went when someone landed a punch.....
    IMO....it was a draw!!!!
But i think there were 1/2 dubious rounds which could have gone either way Mosley ran in to problems when he was brawling but still landed big shots and controlled the later rounds!!

I not sure of my opinion with the poster that said that Mosley has a better chance than Cotto because...maybe he does..........Mosley has the tools to do it..... It think cotto could be picked off for 12 rounds and would have to rely on power beating floyds defence and speed.

As for Mosley I dont know if he could really win...he would be able to give Floyd some serious nightmares, because of his speed, Power and applys pressure he puts on opponents....a plus is Mosley has a seriously good chin and would be hard to get him dishartened and/or stop the pressure..........he has A CHANCE but hes way past his best.....So Its hard to say

Cotto is the only man IMO to have a chance against Floyd at Welter.
