The only reason people hold (or pretend to hold) Kessler in such high regard

Well I think it is clear that someone has this hidden agenda, on the other hand there are also the people that really try to bring down Kessler and his accomplishments simply because they want to bring Calzaghe's legacy in doubt. This I think has been quite obvious both ways.

I was a Kessler fan - a few days from now I will be a Kessler fan again - since he is the only fighter I really feel exited about and that I really wish that will win. I love to see a great boxing match and I can appreciate it but it never gets my blood pressure up as when Kessler fights. I am danish of course.

Can't agree here. Been a fan of Kessler while I never cared about Calzaghe. Still, I have to say that the version of Kessler who faced Calzaghe was way better than the one we saw on Saturday. Kessler remains Calzaghes best win (Calzaghe lost to B-Hop in my book). The Kessler that we saw on Saturday was rusty as hell, no jab, no footwork, couldn't pull the trigger.

Already lots of people here claiming bull**** to this thread title and I'm here to join in.

A past prime JC with bad hands beat Kessler. Now with that information do you seriously think Calzaghe fans hold Kessler in the highest regard?

    No, complete bull****.

I viewed Kessler as a good fighter before and after the JC fight, at this point I should point out I liked JC but was not his biggest fan due to lack of resume.

Threads like this is the usual BS from Haters (Mainly Yanks funny enough).

Question, Since JC is not great due to Kesslers status being knocked down a peg what does that say about BHop?

Does that mean I can rip into and devalue one of the greatest of my era because he lost to Calzaghe who beat Kessler who was destroyed by Ward?
And don't feed me the 43 year old past it BS either, yeah he was past it but no more so than JC.

I take it if BHop loses his next fight it also devalues JC's career?
No, only ******ed thinkers would think that way. :deal

    Yep!

There's another thread here somewhere about "overall ability" comparing Joe to PacMan??!?!!? :-:)-:)-(

Just the fact that PacMan fought El Terrible, MAB and Dinamita is nuff saying!!!!!!
BUT TOTAL OF SEVEN FIGHTS WITH THESE LEGENDARY FIGHTERS AND LOSING ONLY ONE OF THEM is just overload of awesomeness!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

But back to subject, yeah, Joe beat bunch of tomato cans and in the end schooled a C+ level Lacy and Kessler, then decisioned past their prime but still relevant B-Hop and Roy, he's all of the sudden ATG!!!!
    Very interesting!!!

He's the biggest name on Calzaghe's record and Ward just added him on his 21st fight.

And that is the reason why Calzaghe will never be seen as a great,he just doesnt get respect, and he never will because he dont deserve it
