he could of beat tarver in the 3rd fight easy but when he hurt tarver he decided to step off the gas and then showboat and he was toying around alot its like a guy who doesnt really care to be honest just like Another day on the JOB.

He could of finished tito off so early if he just threw more combos.

But he is not a shot fighter his handspeed is still faster then most of the guys out now, he still has the ring smarts, still has his power, but the only thing that really left him is his hunger he doesnt wanna end fights its like he is more content with toying with guys.

He is shot it's down to lack of confidence in his stamina and power

Roys always had that attitude of not finishing hurt opponents. Altough I bet 500 Vcash on Jones to finish Tito, I knew in the back of my mind there was a good chance Jones was not gone go for the kill even though he would put himself in the position to do so. Maybe it was due to the lack of bad blood.

Roy was looking out for Tito last night , he knows and anyone with half a brain know that Tito has no business, NO Business fighting above 160 and after a 2 year lay off.. any other light Hvy would have literally Killed Tito last night , but Roy likes tito and didn't really want to hurt him.

As old as Roy is he still had enough in him to seriously Hurt Tito if he really wanted to. I mean seriously the size difference, strength alone was redic!!! When is the last time you seen Roy Walk down anyone or Walk through there punches ?!?! and thats exactly what he did to tito , if he wanted too he could have laid tito out till next week...

    I agree with this.

my mom even said roy jones jr could of killed tito trinidad she underestimated him big time. my pop too was saying roy was going easy on him the only other time they said that about a fighter was when Pacquiao was fighting marco barrera the 2nd time.

Pacquaio did not have an edge over Barerra to the degree Jones does over Trinidad.

The only thing he has kept to some degree is his handspeed(which is still nothing like his prime handspeed). He doesn't have anywhere near the footwork, overall reflexes, or stamina he used to. He has decent power still, but not like his prime. He shows flashes of his former brilliance against a limited fighter like Tito. Against a Calzaghe he would get handled. His limited workrate and stamina are what do him in nowadays. He is shot compared to the old Roy Jones.

Roy has lost more than that. He is still extremely fast with his hands, but they're not as fast as they once were (how could they be?), and his legs and reflexes aren't what they once were. He doesn't seem to have the same snap and accuracy either.

Furthermore, his killer instinct hasn't been the same since he left 168. Compare how quickly he finished off opponents like Paz, Thornton, Byrd, and Brannon when he hurt them and then look at how long it took to finish (or not finish) a lot of his opponents @ 175 when he had them hurt.
