What do you reckon about Nathan "Carnage" Corbett vs AS? Will AS have to resort to his BJJ?

Bones smacks AS around all day and night. Unlike most I don't even think it has to be on the ground as I think Jon's freakish wingspan allows him to catch AS with some standing elbows. In the end Jon would clearly be able to take down AS and finish him off on the ground with some likely nice gashed on his face for him to remember 'Bones" by.

He's in the MPL league from what I hear but he's being approached to do MMA. If he does, it'll be in AS's division.

  7. Not from how a less skilled grappler in Sonnen dominated AS in that last fight.

Sonnen's first round reminded me of that fight but Sonnen just didnt execute it well enough. Was very basic sub attempts compared with Daiju Takase's.

  8. I agree, its just that the UFC doesnt have many top draw strikers. Kickboxing as a whole isnt as popular in America as some other places and so America doesnt have too many top kickboxing gyms, sparring partners, and fighters.

Sonnen dominated with his wrestling for a while and still lost....AS evolved a lot since he began to train outside the Chute Boxe....his submission defensive skills are in another level today in comparison with his verison in PRIDE. He is very hard to submit and is very dangerous in any position on the ground....

Honestly, you're so wrong. In a purely stand-up fight where there was no risk of takedowns, Silva would slice Jones to pieces. Even with the threat of takedowns there, Machida was easily outslicking and outlanding Jones before he got took down and elbowed on the skull and cut - and Machida isn't as good as Silva IMO.

You need to be a good all rounder. Chaels hole will ALWAYS be that he doesn't have very good power and is super prone to submissions.

Silva is an excellent striker but brought out the jits against two high level wrestlers in Henderson and Sonnen. He kept it standing against Maia. He finished the fight at kicking range versus boxer Belfort.

He always has an answer so you really need to be strong everywhere.
