...............is to outbox him, and this will only be accomplished by a silky smooth 'boxer', who also has a) above average power and 2) a very good chin and c) the heart of a lion As I see it the person best equipped at 168 to do this is still Jermain Taylor. Forget Kessler. Although I believe Kessler would beat Taylor, he'd fare worse v Froch than Taylor did as he doesn't have the skills to outbox Froch. Kessler is too static, too upright, and without the lateral movement and footwork to outbox Froch. Kessler would too easily get drawn into a brawl which is Carl's territory.
Umm, not quite.. Kessler is a proven 168 champ, and is better than taylor in just about every category but hand speed ( not by too much ) .. Froch is a beast, and has the heart of a champ.. unfortunately he lacks in the defense and boxing department... and Taylor showed that you can hurt Froch.. Kessler or Bute can finish Froch early... or outbox him for the length of the fight. I can see him maybe doing to Bute what Andrade did, but I also think Andrade is better at keeping on the pressure and has a better chin than Froch... so he won't necessarily be able to mimic what Andrade did. But I do understand that Froch is British and you are blatantly bias and nationalistic.... so I understand where you are coming from
kessler WILL stop froch. he will have his head removed from his shoulders going in there with that goofy hands by the waist stance, he doesn't have the reflexes to pull it off against someone as accurate down the pipe and who hits with the power kessler does.
Froch doesn't have the basic technical skills to be incinvible to all but the slickest of boxers, regardless of his massive heart and determination. Someone with a big straight punch like Pavlik would take him to hell and back, would love to see that fight made, would be an absolute war.
There is NO way anyone can beat the Cobra, other than points or KO, but other than that, there is NO way anyone can beat the Cobra.
Froch Taylor 2 would be over in half the time it took first time around.Froch would walk him down from the opening bell.I'm pretty sure next time Carl fights his defence will be a little tighter and he'll box.:good
He didn't get drawn into a a brawl against JC even though he proabably would have fared better if he had (instead he kept backpedalling). If you want to see Kesslers foot movement in action see the Andrade fight. Kessler was unusually stiff against Calzaghe, so it doesn't serve as a good example. Kesslers only weakness is lack of head movement, which is mostly a problem against "slappers" (yeah, sorry but it's hard to describe those punches with a better word) like Calzaghe, not slow sluggers like Froch.
