Froch isn't going to be as nervous in his next fight, so I reckon he will perform better, and so should rightly be considered good competition for Kessler or Bute

I am sorry, but I think you underestimate Kessler by a landslide. If he's in top form he will kick Frochs ass and he will do so both in a brawl and at distance. The big unknown is how Kesslers form is. He looked sharp against Haussler, but that's not at good point of reference. Froch chance lies in, that Kesslers skills an physical power have deteriorated since the fight with Calzaghe, which isn't a total impossibility.

Kessler will beat beat Froch I imagine, but it'll be a good fight whilst it lasts.

Now that Hatton got his ass handed to him, I see all the Englishmen are latching onto Carl Froch.

Don't fool yourselves people - Froch isn't anything that great. He has a chance against a lot of fighters due to his chin, power and stamina, but he's still very slow, and he's still not a great boxer. It doesn't take someone "silky smooth" to outbox Carl Froch. Vitali Tsypko would outbox Carl Froch (but get his ass knocked out). Lucian Bute would easily outbox Carl Froch (though Froch has the puncher's chance and stamina edge). Kessler would outbox Froch. Balszay might even be able to outbox Froch. Andrade would probably walk through Froch and outwork him. If he's carefully matched, he can stay a beltholder for a long time, and he has the proverbial puncher's chance against a lot of guys, but don't expect him to be the next great English champion.

I'd hate to see what it ends up like here if Haye gets his ass kicked by Wlad.

Me too, we will probably have to hope Khan gets a chin transplant.

We all thought the same for the Pavlik-Taylor rematch and it didn't happen.

The only way to beat Froch?

I would tell it the other way. Against a top 5, there is only one way Froch can win: by a ko.

Gimme a ****ing break. Froch was only effective after Taylor had totally gassed. If Froch were to be victorious in a rematch, I would wager that it would either be due to another late stoppage or close decion after performering well in the second half of the fight.

Against Taylor, Froch had a bad attack of stage fright, although he may talk a good fight and play down anything negative,he was scared. When he watches the tapes of the fight he'll see the effect his punches were having on Taylor as opposed to the effect of Taylors punches on him.The knockdown was a flash knockdown and Froch was never in serious trouble, anyone who's been hit on the temple will know the effect it has, even when the punch is only moderately hard.Another factor is size, never mind all the publicised stats about each fighter,it was clearly obvious Froch was much bigger than Taylor.Whilst i'm almost certain Taylor v Froch 2 will never happen,i'll gladly take your wager on the outcome and the timing of it.:good

There are plenty of guys who could beat him at 168.
    That's the beauty of it.

Kessler will THRASH Froch. Much faster hands, much better footwork, similar power and chin and technically far better with a much better defence.

Kessler has never been down, he wont crumble from one or two Froch shots that get through, but he will land at will just like Taylor only with more shots, greater variety and the ability to avoid Frochs attacks far better. Total whitewash.

Bute can win a wide UD unless he gets caught, which is a real possibility. Pick em fight between those two, Bute has all the advantages that Taylor had but Froch has the natural aid of the better chin and the ability to take out his man.

Best fight for Froch would be Pavlik. Someone with worse footwork than him who is also easy to hit and wont catch him with fast shots he doesn't see coming. He will get caught and hurt, but his chin is far better than Pavliks and it will be fought in the pocket where Froch wants it. Froch by KO.

I keep seeing this argument from the Frochsmokers but the fact is that JT has a history of performing better in rematches, and nothing is going to take away his handspeed advantage and activity in the early rounds. Froch even said after the fight that JT was too fast for him early, and said he knew he'd have to bide his time until later in the fight. How is that going to change in the rematch?

Did you see the Andrade fight? Kessler punches on the move. All night long. And Andrade, like Froch, followed him around the ring like a lap dog all night long. Only difference is, Froch doesn't have Andrade's chin.
