I like that "open book" statement. It is 100% accurate. Froch looks like a very simple guy to figure out. The OP's assessment that only a slick boxer could beat Froch is way off the mark. Good fundamentals, good stamina, and some power in both hands will trump Froch's courage and toughness everytime.

I could see Lucian Bute outpointing Froch. He should never move to Light Heavyweight. Chad Dawson would use him for target practice.

Mate, no-one's suggesting that Pavlik has the skills of Sugar Ray, but he's still a world-class fighter. We all know about his defensive liabilities, but he has the chin to absorb a lot of punishment and keeps a good high guard most of the time. He does the basics well: a good jab, solid hand-speed, switches the attack from body to head. Most importantly, he's a very strong Middleweight with a lot of power. He's cracked a few tough nuts in his time, with an impressive KO record, and he's fought solid opposition on his way to the top.

He was obviously beaten down by Hopkins, but that was a stupid move stylistically in the first place (coupled with the fact that he wasn't right on the night in any case). Apart from that, he's beaten Taylor convincingly twice (and not on a desperate KO from nowhere), and seen off the top contenders in the division. He wasn't "seriously rattled" by Miranda; he pushed him back, wore him down and bombed him out mid-fight - a systematic win.

If that's not good enough for you, fine; but don't go placing guys like Froch, Andrade, Abraham etc. above Pavlik when they don't touch his ability with a bargepole.

OK. I've ignored a few posts already, but Froch himself said he had to wait for Taylor to slow down before he could do anything. End of.... Hell, even I read more about Froch than you deluded nut case fans. :deal

Here we go again. Brits calling out the 160 pound champ to face their 168 pound champ. We saw what happened last time. And, you are wrong with your analysis on Pavlik/Froch anyhow. fail, fail, fail....

Carl Froch has proven that he has the heart of a lion and is a very brave fighter with a great chin, excellent jab and very good power, but he's not very good defensively. However,Taylor is not a true litmus test.He has good handspeed,a good jab and decent power, but he's a natural middleweight who has stamina problems. He's also been ko'd by Pavlik at middleweight and got a gift against naturally smaller Cory Spinks.I believe that Froch would give Kessler many problems because of his toughness, but Kessler has very good boxing skills and is pretty damn tough, too,as well as having superior endurance to Taylor,so I see Kessler utilizing said boxing skills and winning a unanimous, clearcut decision. However against Bute,I see a repeat of the Taylor fight. But what is really intriguing would be a bout with Librado Andrade. Two tough guys with steel chins.

Hermit, please don't label me a "Froch Fan" i'm nothing of the sort and have been one of his biggest critics on other boxing forums. What bothers me is the complete and utter crap that the haters talk.Taylor boxed the head off Froch for 5 possibly 6 of the first 6 rounds, then the tide turned, anyone who thinks that Taylor schooled Froch untill the knockdown is in need of medication.Call me old fashioned, but when i was boxing you were scored on your performance/success over the rounds entirity, not a flurry of punches thrown in last 15 seconds of each round, and please dont be patronising,i've probably read and forgotten more boxing facts than yourself.See,its easy to be a keyboard boxing expert when the people dissagreeing with you are "faceless" thing is you really never know who they are and what they know ?;)

Again, others posted after me the same thing, Froch said Taylor was catching him early and he had to wait until Taylor gassed so even Froch admitted, albeit indirectly, Taylor lost more than Frpcj won. Better stamina from Taylor and it would have been a different ending. He didn't have the tools to break Taylor down. Taylor did that to himself.
