This is about Margo loading his wraps up with plaster which is grounds for criminal prosecution if he enters the ring with them loaded, so leave Tito, Toney, RJJ and SSM out of this.

SSM lost because he is old as dirt, Margo who is a SLOW limited plodder would've made ODLH look near his prime. If they fight again Cotto wins another close one, unless SSM catches him early with something nasty.

I believe the loaded gloves are blown out of proportion. Handwraps are already very hard, unless there is something in them that has a significant weight the difference should not be soooo much.
Comparing Mosley vs Margo and Cotto vs Margo makes you see, that Mosley just did a better job than Cotto. Cotto is just a little smaller, a little less strong than Mosley. And this little bit (plus the differences in style and tactics) was enough. Margo seemed really a real threat from the first round on, even Cotto was hardly hit; Mosley was able to bully Margo back.
