Even if it by some miracle made you worse, the fighter took it deliberatly as a performance enhancer. Just because it doesnt work like they planned doesn't make the whole debacle right.

well, if you're gonna hold mosley and toney accountable for roids, what about holyfield and countless number of roids users tha you dont know about.

 

Mosley wasn't on roids when he fought Cotto... the times when Mosley was on roids, which can only be proven with his Hoya fight, he looked terrible. He loss that fight. Roids seem to make people slow, maybe because all of the muscle - they bulk up but become slow. You could tell when he started to be on roids... It was at 154. Lol I remember when HBO made a comment of how big mosley is now compared to how he was at WW ..lol they did a photo comparison rofl. He looked wayyyyy to big and cut -- and mosley made the comment of how he used to lift a lot of weights in high school and had to stop for boxing at certain weights, but now he has been lifting a lot more.

that was during the Hoya fight and he was so slow. Everyone was commenting on the fact that he was slower than oscar in that fight, he only looked stronger and bigger. He was big like that for the first Winky fight too and got schooled so bad. Then he all of a sudden loss all the muscle mass and looked normal and fought much better in the rematch. It's easy to see when he was on roids and in the Oscar fight it was not, to my opinion, a good performance. He was slow...

 

Um, the only winner I saw on Saturday night was Sugar Shane Mosley

Hopefully Cotto took something from Shane's victory in that clinching can be your best friend. Lets not take anything from saturday night masterpiece. Shane fought the perfect fight against a dangerous opponent

 

well, its still illegal and if it only hurts you and makes u slow, why would they take for in the first place.

 

Silver there is a few problems with your response. Let me break it down.

1) I didn't say it was not illegal.

2) I didn't say it only hurts you. I gave my observation of what it did for Shane, it appeared to only make him more bulk and stronger. But because of this he looked slow and even Oscar was faster.

3) Roids don't mean instant win. Oscar has beat 3 roided fighters -- destroyed 2 and got cheated out of a victory against Shane.

4) Shane didn't use Roids before the match he used it during training champ. It's illegal either way it goes, but it didn't seem to help him at all.

5) Although it is cheating, there is different degrees of cheating. Loading your gloves up is far worst. It is one of the worst things you can do. Many people have done roids, which doesn't make it right and something is very wrong with boxing that they have done nothing really to truly prevent this -- but there is a very thin list of guys who have loaded their gloves and often only tragedy or very bad injuries have come from it.

Now I am not saying Margo used loaded gloves against Cotto, but what if he did and the outcome was that Cotto nearly died and could never fight again?

BTW I am not defending roid use, I just find it stupid that people are reduced to saying, "well guess what he cheated, so did this person, and that person, etc etc." It is stupid. All cheating is wrong, but its something wrong with boxing itself that such things like this can even happen.

 

Face the facts, Mosley beat Margarito with a combination of will and skill.

Margarito had no answer for Shane's speed and sheer power. Clinching when necessary is part of the boxing. I think Margarito underestimated Shane's ring intelligence and ability to adapt when the situation calls for it. Simply put, the bully got bullied

Using your face as a defense mechanism can only work for so long. Somewhere, skill and the ability to adapt has to be implemented and Margarito clearly has shown he's lacking in both areas

 

Margo was found not guilty of any wrong doing by the Nevada Commission in the cotto fight.

 

No, Little Sugar didn't just beat Margarito, he beat the crap out of him and may have ruined Margarito's punch resistance. A person is often never the same when they are KO'd, especially those who are known for taking punishment and out lasting their guy and breaking them down.
