That's right, those bombs Ortiz landed would have downed Joshua.

I'd say Joshua would have fatigued in the mid to late rounds with Ortiz doubled downing on his chin until he was drowned.

If a 37 year old Takum who was cycling on his bicycle a week before the fight, can take the fight to Joshua, with him needing assistence from the ref to stop it early for phantom punches, then there is no reason to believe the same determined, Ortiz wouldn't have done a number on Joshua.

This goes a long way in explaining why Eddie Hearn made that desperate call to the WBA to have Pulev placed as the priority mandatory, instead of Ortiz even when they had the threat of having only 5 days to honor it or be stripped that was never followed through with (which btw Fury was never afforded the same allowance to deviate from and was later stripped)

I would still bet on AJ at this point.

Not just vs Ortiz but vs Wilder.

If AJ looks poor vs Parker then i will change my mind.

This. Ortiz is levels above Takam and actually has power compared Takam, who is featherfisted.

AJ and Hearn definitely avoided Ortiz ,Ortiz was WBA mando and they went with IBF mando Pulev ,talked even about rematching Whyte, unifications with Parker or Wilder but didnt want to hear about Ortiz at all. May be wanted to wait couple of years until he gets even older. Now they want Povetkin instead.

Its shame because Ortiz got paid only 500k for Wilder fight and he was going to make at least 2 mil vs AJ instead and may be had better chance to win , who is the best southpaw that AJ fought in the pros or even amateurs ? I cant recall one in the pros at least , non journeyman.

Still Ortiz vs Joshua was 50/50 fight and Wilder vs Joshua is about the same.

It doesn't, I'm not kidding, Ortiz it could be argued, hits just as hard as Wlad, after all he KO'd Jennings whereas Wlad went the distance, if Ortiz landed that many flush shots on a badly gassed AJ, it would have been over.
