Wlad just did what he had to vs Jennings. It's called being a 40 year old ten year reign champion and taking no risks.

I figured Ortiz would ko Wilder as well as any other HW…that said, Joshua is a good technician and adept counterpuncher but Ortiz is a great technician, great counterpuncher and has a far better chin…on paper I would still pick Ortiz over Joshua, based mainly on style…

If anything last night proved Ortiz wouldn't of beaten Joshua had Ortiz believed in himself enough to wait for his mandatory shot.

The flaws we saw against Scott and Allen are still there. He's a one paced fighter, he couldn't put the kind of pressure on to finish Joshua even if he had Joshua gassed and hurt. He also doesn't set a high enough pace to expose Joshua's stamina issues.

But Joshua unlike Wilder won't be so easily countered due to his tighter defence and won't be so easily shut down if his jab is taken away as he doesn't rely on it as much as Wilder does. I'd confidently pick Joshua to out box and break down Ortiz.

Ortiz would have no chance against Joshua. I am sure Joshua is licking his chops to get to Wilder and knock that fraud out! Hell, I had Ortiz winning every round except two, and he almost knocked Wilder out, an old man!

Maybe but AJ would of landed that uppercut he throws and it would be game over.
If anything I think both fights with Wlad v AJ and Wilder v Ortiz both showed a gulf in class from the rest and that how much of a lottery HW boxing is which is why I give huge props to Wilder for backing his mouth up.
When it happens AJ v Wilder is gonna be huge.

Good point,AJ got caught only a few times by Wlads big right hand so I think he’d do ok against Wilder, would have to get him out before championship rounds though I think.

I can't see it. Joshua would find it far easier to impose his size vs Ortiz than vs Takam. Takam actually had some defence. Ortiz has more power but imo woud be easier to outbox. Joshua is not as easy a target as Wilder to land on.

When joshua did get caught totally flush with the steelhammer he actually bore it quite well imo. He controlled his fall and got up and held together quite well considering he was gassed out of his ass.

Wilders power is different though it just comes out of nowhere with such force behind it like a wrecking ball on a chain. Klitschko is like a heat seeking missile in a straight line.

This may sound wrong but im a big Joshua fan and ive always been nervous (and excited) for AJ v Wilder. Ive sat and watched Wilder KO the best opponant of his career by some distance, an opponant Eddie Hearn clearly wanted kept away from Joshua and yet after it im more confident of an AJ victory against Wilder.

I don't think I agree that Ortiz would have beaten Joshua. Joshua fights much differently than Wilder, and the dynamics would have been completely different. I actually think Joshua would be better suited for winning rounds than Wilder, and perhaps a little less well suited for scoring that type of explosive knockout.

If were saying Ortiz would've beaten Joshua purely because of how well he did against Wilder then you could say the same for Washington and others who were doing well against Wilder. Molina was doing well against Wilder.
