At this time of year most boxing writers/fans are voting for the typical year end awards such as “Fight of the Year”, “Fighter of the Year”, “Round of the Year”, etc…. I wanted to take a different path at handing out such prestigious awards, and
have come up with some much deserved, but given no attention to, boxing awards.

Now remember this is all in fun, after all, those that really know me, knows that I like to have fun, and can be a bit on the twisted side, so don’t get your panties in a bunch if you don’t agree with any of my awards.

So without further ado, here are my selections for The Other 2009 Year End Awards.

Most Deserved Beat Down Award :yep:yep:yep:hey:hey:hey

Without a doubt, the beating of Antonio Margacheato at the hands of Shane Mosley. Antonio and his trainer Javier Capetillo, did the unthinkable in this sport, and loaded his wraps with plaster inserts for his fight against Mosley. If it wasn’t for the keen eye of Naazim Richardson, Margacheato could have seriously injured, or possibly even killed Shane Mosley on that night. So seeing Sugar Shane put the beat down on Margacheato in humiliating fashion that night, was instant karma coming back to bite Margacheato in the ass. Now we know that there is no proof that Margacheato and his trainer had used these pads in the past, but I think any boxing fan with a brain can’t possibly believe that this was the only time they tried to cheat, especially in a fight that Margacheato was the favorite to win. I sincerely hope that the California State Athletic Commission bans both of them for life. They both do not deserve to earn another cent from a sport that they disrespected to the highest degree.
