Robson Conceicao, probably Brazil's best amateur boxer ever, and only gold-medal winner, squared off against Vasyl Lomachenko in the World Championships in 2011, and won a 20-19 decision*...only the Ukranians complained (cough...cough...paid someone...cough) and got the decision overturned, saying that Conceciao should have been disqualified for holding.

Conceciao is now 4-0 and like all of the Brazilians who come here, seems to be taking the slooooow route to riches. He turned pro a year ago, and is signed with none other than Uncle Bob.

He fights like a cross between Emanuel Augustus and a clumsier version of "Titere" Vasquez, (if that is possible), and was tripping over his own feet all fight....but he did win gold! He fights in a ridiculously unorthodox manner, winging wild with his hands at his side, and kinda looks like he'd rather be a Copacabana beach. Don't have high hopes for him. But hey, a grudge match could be good some day, as he is only 28.

PS: Lomachenko was docked a point in this fight for...get this...REPEATEDLY HITTING ON THE HIPS!!! (I knew you'd love that one).

*It looked obvious to me that Lomacheko was the superior fighter and won 2/3 rounds clearly.
