Anyone remember Terry Norris' bigger brother Orlin Norris? I always appreciated his skill, and thought that he never quite made the most of his talents. However, in my mind he clearly was robbed against Tony Tucker and was unfairly accused of 'dogging it' in his fight with Tyson, where he was was clearly hit after the bell and got injured. Some accused him of faking the injury in order to escape a beating, but I always thought the leg injury was legitimate. Does anyone have something story to tell about this fighter?
It's ironic that Orlin Norris had the unfortunate result with Tyson that he did, because at the time of his fine fluent decision over Page, I though he might have the defensive skills and conditioning necessary to actually frustrate Tyson enough over the 12 round distance to dethrone him. I liked Night Train a great deal, and had actually viewed more of him than his smaller brother. At the end of his 12 against Page, he actually had the energy to perform an exhuberant showboating dance, an extremely unusual display from somebody who was generally all business. Somewhat lacking in power, but a finely skilled smaller heavyweight, just the sort who might remove the cruiserweight division's excuse for existing (something that could always be expected to reasonate favorably with me). Although a fine cruiserweight champion for the WBA, I think of him as a two time NABF HW champion. Avenged his losses to Miller and Tucker. A smaller and shorter armed competitor who could definitely play with the big boys at a world class level.
