Been watching some older guys so a shout out to Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore. Those two were monsters.
Anyone mentioned Andy Bowen and Jack Burke yet? Back in the 1890’s they went at each other for 110 rounds. That’s over seven hours. Both boxers broke multiple bones in their hands and both became so exhausted and concussed that the fight was finally stopped and declared a draw. Boxing was different back then, of course, but these guys were surely super tough.
Everytime Tyson Fury has been dropped he got up and fought back harder and more viscous than before he got dropped. Dude is fierce but people have this weird image in their mind that he's a soft touch. You couldn't be more wrong. don't be surprised when all is said and done if he is the only man to have never been stopped by Deontay Wilder and deinftely the only man to have ever got up after taking a clean 1,2 off him in round 12.
For 21st century I think Kell Brook deserves an honourable mention. Definitely not the toughest of the lot, but to jump 2 weight classes to fight a killer in golovkin have your eye socket smashed to smithereens and keep on fighting deserves some kudos for me. In a backwards kind of way I give Khan props. Seen him get off the floor to win, plus fight some killers knowing he's made of pure China. That's some mental toughness right there. Chisora, not a very gifted fighter whatsoever but been in some tough tough fights, haye knockout looked like fatigue to me and dilian whyte obvious new cloud makes you wonder why chisora got iced, chisora gives me the impression you could hit him with a free shot with a crowbar and he wouldn't budge. Ruiz must be tough I've heard stories of him knocking out police men when he was 12. I saw some bloke get knocked out of a ring and landed face first into the hard leisure centre floor. Got up walked back in the ring to get stopped by the next clean punch. There is my list of names who are tough but probably not tough enough to make a list of tough was mother****ers
