What is all this stuff about Pac loading his wraps or whatever? Can someone tell me if this is true? How major?
Floyd doesn't throw with bad intentions. His brittle hands won't allow it. He throws his pull counter right as an arm punch. There's no thunderous concussion that comes from it, like you'd expect from a fighter's strong/rear hand. It's a pesky nuisance, like a stiff jab. Against a flabby lightweight in Marquez, those punches might have been a deterrent. Mosley was gasping for air by the third round, there was no longer the same threat to Floyd which gave him confidence to walk Shane down. Remember why Floyd is on vacation-- "It's not cool to take punishment!":|
Garcia thought Pac's wraps looked strange and demanded he rewrap. When they unwound the wraps, an unidentified block fell out of each one. The Texas commission plays fast and loose with the rules and said it was no big deal, so they put the blocks back in. The actual issue Garcia complained about was that the rep from their camp said that Roach had prepared the rolled tape that goes in between the knuckles in advance. Roach denied it and the commission rep that was present also refuted this claim. Ultimately, it was Team Margarito's responsibility to pay attention and their rep apparently wasn't watching closely when Freddie rolled the tape up and thought he brought it pre-made. At the same time, Freddie was demanding a pre-fight urinalysis of Tony after learning that he was caught attempting to take Hydroxycut (stimulant) in the locker room. Both sides squashed it and it ended up being a whole lotta nothing.
No he didn't offer him any PPV revenue and he only offered him a fight with contract stipulations. And he would pay 8 million to Floyd to fight Margarito, but would only pay 6 million to fight Mosley, Hatton, Cotto. And the DLH was considered out of the question with Arum. Floyd got more money in more ways than one.
