The Pacquiao-Cotto fight should not be for the title if it is not at 147lbs

Yes, I am known as a rampant Pacquiao nuthugger, and to be honest I'm fine with that, I do love him as a fighter and will always defend this brave and brilliant warrior.

However, my own opinion has always been that a fight for a title has to be at the weight limit of that division.

Therefore, Pacquiao v Cotto should not be for the title IMO.

I think it is right and fair that this fight is at a catchweight because Pac is no welterweight, but it's not right if the fight is for a welterweight title.

    JMHO :good

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

  3. Wait.

    We're discussing Pacquiao?

More specifically, we're discussing Pacquiao (and Roach) being annoying bitches...

    And WE are in agreement?

    I need to lie down...

I think the title should be on the line to be honest. If cotto truly believes he is the better man he should not mind this.

I'm sure Cotto believes he's the better man... at 147.

I think Cotto's a *****, It's his greed's the reason this fight is even happening.

How about giving Mosley a rematch, I mean to fight a former flyweight rather than fight a genuine welter in Mosley who has the belt title.

The fact Cotto is shitting himself to even lay the title on the line against a midget is embarressing.

145lbs? he weighed in at 146lbs a fews weeks ago against Clottey. If he can't handle losing One ****ing pound don't take the fight you greedy *****, i mean one pound all he got to do is lose his underpants and socks.

    We are in agreement

Even if it was Marquez instead of Pac in this position, i'd have exactly the same stance

    Goodstuff Dinamita.

I don't really have a problem with Pacquiao's team trying to get the belt thrown in as part of the bargain (who could blame them?), but people criticising Cotto for his actions aren't really being fair.

If Pacquiao wants the glory associated with legitimately winning a welterweight title, it would be unfair to expect any less than the 147 pound limit. If Cotto ends up putting it on the line at the catchweight, all credit to him, but i don't think he is doing anything wrong if he is not willing.

Exactly if he's not willing to put the title on the line, don't take the fight.

i agree that it should be at 147 but this is not the first time a huge fight has been at a catchweight. all time greats have done it, so why cant pac.

what i dont understand is that cotto would rather throw his title away than defend it against pac. it seems to me that he is not very confident or is to proud for his own good.

stop being a ***** and put it on the line.
