I guess its not possible to overdo this topic. Again they should weigh in on fight night 147lbs limit and fight for the wbo championship, problem solved.

Anybody got a list of welterweight championship weigh-ins? Just wondering for comparative purposes between fighters that weigh at exactly 147 and fighter under 147.

I dont see why a fight at 145 cant be for the welterweight title.

Just because its not at the limit of the welterweight division doesnt mean its not a welterweight fight

Cotto should not win the title in the first place because his weight was

Its a pride thing with Cotto he feels that if Pac is gunning for his belt he should take it fair and square with no handicaps. But im starting to change my tune on the situation and really feel that 145 is fair and the belt being on the line was inevitable.

i agree with this..but anyway its just a wbo belt, a paper title cotto won from jennings. Its not that of a big deal if pac wins that belt because it doesn't hold credibility. Mosley or berto's belts are the real deal

I think the problem was that they waited to long to tell Cotto his strap would be on the line at 145 i guess they assumed that Cotto knew it would be.

Someone please store this post in the archives of objectivity. Now all we have to do is get a couple of more PAc fans to believe this, and tell them that this post is not a knock on Pac, but an opinion on the reality of the situation, and the forum can operate smoothly lol...

this would be the best way, but i doubt cotto would want it because it would be to fair.

Its not about right or wrong. Its about the fighters accepting it or not.

When I read posts dissing Cotto, I truly have to investigate, and what you just said was straight ass.

I don't care what they accept, the fans will always speak out, and criticize the fighter who is looking for an advantage... Pac needs no advantages to beat Cotto.

145 against the champ at 140 is more than fair. cotto will still outweigh him by 10 pounds so what is the problem.

It is just my belief that titles should not be on the line for catch weight fights. A catch weight fight is a great fight in itself, but how can you ask a man to put his title on the line when he can't even weigh in at the limit of the division.
