From the other thread I/we concluded Cotto is considered the man at the Jr.MW division even thogh imo he has not really done much there, he beat a non puncher for the belt then he took care of an inactive Mayorga. I see all these Jr. MW's in the same boat, all very good fighters that aren't facing each other with the Lara Williams exception. Also IMO to be established these guys must beat at least 3 of these top guys. Example if Lara beat Angulo and then K9 he would be the most legit belt holder, but since that ain't happening MARAVILLA is the man to defeat, and don't give me the he's a MW ****, he can come down to jr.

cotto can make maravilla come down to 154, he wont do it for anyone else but him,pac or may.
I think martinez gets chavez in december the winner could face marg/cotto winner at 157 or something ofr the 160 belt.

A fight between Cotto and Maravilla would be very interesting, and I think would tell how a rematch with Pac would go at 154.

Like Cotto is going to fight Martinez when he won't even fight a top 10 guy. Cotto is content living off his name and using his PR following to earn big paychecks fighting the Forman's and Mayorga's. Cotto doesn't deserve to be mentioned in any 154 lb discussion until he faces a live body.

I wish, he no longer rules 154... to do that he must come down and take out Cotto, who IMO doesn't really rule 154 but he is at the top since most everyone else are up and coming guys.

Yes, he did take the path of least resistance, I find it hat to belive when I read that Foreman was a fight he was suppose to lose, although Forman was just crowned champ I belive Arum saw it as a win win, foreman wins I have something that hasn't been seen in a while, a Jewish star in boxing, Cotto wins, an already established Champ.

I don't belive there's "the man" at that division yet, although it has some good fighters, its almost like the HW prospects that aren't facing each other, well some have started

Only reason Maravilla is fighting at 160 was to fight Pavlik and Williams on their terms, so Sergio is still the top 154lber who beat the best 154lber who was Pwilly at the time who was jumping from 147-160 and had impressive wins over Margarito, Verno Philips and a faded Winky. I think Sergio should get back where he belongs in 154 mix. He will get more respect fighting Cotto than Chavez Jr. He also has better chances for a Pacman or Floyd superfight happening. He could stay busy fighting Molina, Lara, Kirkland, Angulo, Ishida, Bundrage, or Vanes wiping out the division earning a fight with the 2 stars.

154 is stacked full of good talent.... the thing is, Martinez would be heavily favored to mop the floor with anyone in and around that division. Such is the talent discrepency between Sergio and every other 154 pounder.
