OK guys let me try to make things clear about Wales.

Wales is called a country but it is not a sovereign country. It is not a Nation-State that a sovereign country is recognized as. Neither are Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. They are all together called the United Kingdom or Britain or The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. So United Kingdom is a sovereign nation similar to the United States; England, Scotland, Wales are not. That is why UK represents for all of them in the United Nations and even at Olympics.

However, Wales is not to Britain as for instance California is to the US. Wales has its own government called Welsh Assembly government which has substantial executive powers that a nation-state has. Welsh probably like to have Wales as a separate sovereign country but it is still not a nation state. Thats why they have the same British passport that the English have.
