To be fair to the Americans. I mean. It must be confusing to them. Since if you look up Joe Calzaghe's profile. You'll actually find that he was actually born in England. Which can be mistaken for him actually being ENGLISH.

And it must be confusing to them when you actually read the history of Wales and find out that it's actually been part of the "kingdom of England" for a thousand years.

And Wales is represented in the Union Flag ...... under the ST George's Cross. ...... The flag of ENGLAND.

Wales is a country that is not recognized by the United Nations. Which in theory doesn't make it a country at all. The only "country" that
matters is "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" The UK. And the only part of the UK that matter is ..... England.

When was the last time Wales was actually an independent country? When was the last time it had it's own head of state? Has it ever? Probably have to go back to the days of christ.

Let's be fair to the Americans.

Erm, yeah, they were on our doorstep. They kind of went away though, y'know, when we beat them in the Battle of Britain, before you had even entered the war. Which made Adolf leave us to focus on Russia, the beginning of the end.

This is one thing that really does annoy me with some Americans. The Americans who knows all their history through stupid Hollywood movies.

It is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful the lack of respect you have for the Brits who fought against Germany completely alone.

To say that you "saved our ass" or whatever is absolutely sickening to the rest of the World.

P.s. After the Red Army entered Berlin and basically ended the war in Europe, it was Churchill who wanted to continue on to Moscow in fear of Soviet expansion West but Eisenhower wouldn't have it.

Don't ****ing run away from an argument you have got yourself into as soon as you find out that there are people here that actually have a ****ing clue what they are talking about.

Britain had won the Battle of Britain and the Battle of Atlantic. We had ****ing won our war!!

We had fought from the beggining (almost, sorry East Europe), long before you or the Russians entered and we did it alone! And when Adolf came for us we ****ing battered him!!

After that, after you got attacked, UK, US and USSR decided to end it with a big push, which we did. We all entered Europe together.

The Americans who say this **** never have a ****ing clue! Everything they know is from pathetic patriotic American films where the USA has to be the hero.

What is so sickening and obnoxious is that you can be so disrespectful to a country that fought alone from beginning to end, losing so many soldiers and civilians, constantly getting bombed, having whole cities ruined while America was sitting pretty across the ocean, practising its isolationism!

You really are a obnoxious little *****! And for you to be so disgustingly disrespectful on a day like today!! **** me you have a nerve!

I bet you don't even know what is special about today, do you?

Don't get me wrong. I know the majority of AMericans have a good understanding of WWII and understand the importance of the alliance. Realising it would not have been possible if just one of the three were missing but I'm afraid we hear this attitude too often and it is really sad because it is one of those things that gives America a really bad name in Europe.

Not you Reg! Look! You've given him the answer now!:patsch

    ;)

EDIT: I will also add that America does have some right to say "we saved your ass" (hopefully not in such an obnoxious way though). As you allowed us to keep fighting for two years when we couldn't afford it and we were fighting alone. Yes, teh amount we had to pay back was very unfair but you helped us keep the Germans back before you and USSR entered so we could take Europe completely.

You do have right to feel proud of your contribution. Of course we couldnt have done it without your lend lease and finally your man power and weapons but c'mon, please, let's be fair here.

Anyway, sorry, I'll shut up about this now.

I am not a Brit but I can confidently tell you that Wales is not represented by St. George's Cross. The national flag of UK is Union Jack and both Wales and England are represented by the Union Jack. But as much as England has St. George's, Wales has the Red Dragon and Scotland has St. Andrew's Cross, fyi.

The reason why Welsh and Scots hate England is because of the ignorant claims like ' the only part of the UK that matter is ... England.'

You guys need some History lessons to understand the complexities of the British Union.

Now lets all go back to reality. In reality, you and France declared war on Germany. Germany invaded France, beat both the French and British armies off the continent in merely a month. The battle of Britain was a half hearted attempt by Hitler to take the UK perminently out of the war. You won, however it was of little consequence, if Hitler had not declared war on Russia and America, you would still be on your island, and Hitler would still control all over Europe. Only with the industry of the USA and the manpower of the soviet union was Britain able to join the winners table in the end.
