Yeah, of course. It would have been impossible without you (I have mentioned that in the above post).

when you did enter you were invaluable but we only want to see honesty, not someone taking credit for something they don't deserve. UK, USSR and USA all deserve equal credit for what they did. USSR for putting so many lives into victory, UK for fighting from the beginning when Germany had no intention of touching Britain and for the USA helping us financially and with weapons and eventually entering a war that they did not need to.

Anyway, as I said, I'll leave this now. It's far too big a subject to get into.

P.s. Brits were also in Japan/Burma/etc.

Listen I know my history very well. Wales was represented in the Union flag under the St Georges cross because the act of the Union between "kingdom of Scotland" and the "Kingdom of England" was exactly WHY. Wales was represented under the kingdom of England and the what represented the kingdom of England was St Georges cross. That is why the flag of 1606 is a mix of the flag of Scotland and England.

English love their history, don't they? Once they had almost a quarter of the world under St Georges. But there is a difference between 'was' and 'is'. 'Is' is what I said 'was' was what you said.

BTW, I love all of them - the English, the Welsh, the Scots, the Irish, the Yanks, the Aussies, the Kiwis, the Africans, the Caribbeans, The Chinese, The Japanese, the Indians, The Arabs, everyone. All are one of us and we are equal.

I'm not going to play hypatheticals with you. There is no way of know whether the UK could have been invaded. There has not been a true invasion on UK soil since 1066 (yeah, the Dutch but they were invited over by us. Actually, a group of you Americans came onto English soil during TWoI but that was just a kind of "up yours" and to show that you could before you sailed off again).

If the UK was taken, it is most likely that the USA would have also been taken in time unless peace could be brokered, you would have been entered on 4 fronts by at least three countries, so in a way, we "saved your ass".

Most importantly though is that you could say the battle of Britain was a half hearted attempt by Adolf. That is ludicriss!! It was the biggest air fight and bombing campaign ever undertaken!! The Nazis never did anything half heartedly, especially in 1939 and especially when fighting their most dangerous enemy of the time.
They desperately wanted to to invade Britain at this time and they knew they could not do so while we had a working RAF.

What is really very touching about the Battle of Britain is that you had Americans who came over to fight with us in something they so strongly believed in but were not part of. Not just Americans of course, the Poles did a fantastic job.

Anyway, really, I'm leaving this subject. I will get too deep into it and I have too much evidence of what happened there. I really don't want to write another dissertation.

Ultimately, each member of the allies were equally important in their job! That is all that needs to be said. If one of the three were missing or did not do their job as brilliantly as they did, it would have definitely been a German victory.

    Actually no, that's wrong.

It was under the cross of ST Andrew (representing Scotland), ST Patrick (representing Ireland), and St George (representing England and Wales). The Union flag.

And what are you talking about people being equal? Of course. I'm just saying let's be fair to the Americans. Not knowing about Wales isn't the end of the world.

I don't know if you are American (it doesn't appear so) but many Americans really believe that Britain yearns for a lost empire. I'm not sure why they think that, I suppose it's just part of the confused stereotype they have of us.

It honestly could not be further from the truth. Brits cringe at the thought of empire today. All but the most right wing have a feeling not dissimilar to how the Germans feel about the Nazis when we think about colonialism. We tend to feel ashamed of it, which is a shame in itself as I don't think we (Brits) actually understand how we went about empire building. It was generally through trade and peaceful measures.

That said, there really is a lot to be ashamed of, the Indian uprising, spreading opium addiction through China before taking Hong Kong, the way we treated the Irish was absolutely diabolical!

No, we really don't miss or crave the "glory days".

Triplesod, the glory days are still here. Along with the Americans we've fking up the world right now. It's our banks that own everything. The USA and UK are the most corrupted governments in the world. Money is what makes the world go round, and debt is what makes money worth anything. And Britain and America are in debt to everyone, and to fund that debt we have to make everyone in debt to us.

    What a ****ing stupid thread.

And for some Americans saying that Wales is "unimportant" and "has no ties to America" and other such nonsense. Well Wales is of course part of the UK and therefore stormed the beaches at Normandy (as well as having men fighting throughout EVERY year of WWII). Welsh soldiers have also had their blood spilled in Afghanistan and Iraq.

    So **** you.

Relatively speaking, Wales is unimportant. They are not a major trading partner of the U.S.,and our economy has no significant dependance on Wales. If Wales was wiped off the face of the earth tomorrow, it wouldn't have much of an effect on the U.S. It is for this reason that I say Wales has no real ties to the U.S.

US has close ties to the UK, the so-called "special relationship". Therefore, the US has close ties to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

we(U.S) stormed the two most trecherous beaches during the normandy as well as fought them head on with our pilots and navy.... U.S. was the only pilots that would fly during the day
