There are over 300 million people in the U.S muttley, do the math. One million is not a lot when you're dealing with over 300 million people.

Have you heard of the Decleration of Independance? The colonists declared themselves independant from England, meaning they were no longer English subjects. You can try to play semantics all you want, it really doens't help your cause.

Mattress, relavtivity is everything. One millions is not a lot in comparison to 300 million. Do you disagree with this premise?

So the 'average American' who has paid for a ticket to go and see RJJ fight Calzaghe can be forgiven for not recognising the Welsh flag inside the arena, despite the fact that one of the fighters he is going to see is from Wales, and the Welsh flag was brought into the ring prior to the fight for the announcements and national anthems

I wonder how many 'average Americans' pay a lot of money to go and see an American fighter fight someone who they don't know about, and in this day and age of technology and the internet, don't bother to find out who they are before attending the fight :think

Because that's what this thread is about - someone attending the fight who thought the Welsh flag was a team flag.

Some dopey **** who didn't realise that Calzaghe is from Wales, and the flag was Welsh, and you've tried every excuse under the sun to explain it away, and in the process been an arrogant, ignorant ****.

I have one question for you:

Are your replies in this thread genuine, or are you on the wind up?

    Absolute bull****.

New York City is famous, but New York State is lesser known.

You cannot extrapolate that because someone has heard of NYC that they should 'by extension' know of New York state.

To be completely honest with you, I was surprised there are 1 million there.

Surprised anyone noticed them, nevermind count the ****ers!

I doubt many of them were paying attention to the flag.

Plenty. People went to see Roy fight, they weren't really concerned with his opponent. The same goes for Hatton in the U.K. I doubt many of them care about who he's fighting.

The guy has probably never been exposed to the Welsh flag. And there's good reason for it. A friend of mine, whom I was watching the fight with, is very intelligent. He went to a good school and is an engineer. However, I had to explain to him that Wales was a country that was part of the U.K. I seriously doubt he would recognize the Welsh flag. Again, Wales is of little importance in the U.S

"Some dopey **** who didn't realise that Calzaghe is from Wales, and the flag was Welsh, and you've tried every excuse under the sun to explain it away, and in the process been an arrogant, ignorant ****."

Muttley, you are always an ignorant **** no matter what the topic. The threadstarter is ignorant as well. The fact of the matter is, most Americans don't know what the Welsh flag looks like. I've given reasons for it, however, people who don't even live here refuse to accept those reasons.

Some are genunine, some are said tongue in cheek.

I'm talking about more than one person, there are mant Australians, New Zealanders, British, South Americans, Europeans etc. travelling all over the world every day. What you have displayed in this thread is the furthest thing from common sense - you've displayed arrogance, ignorance and general disrespect.

The Australian dollar is even weaker against the pound than the US dollar is, and always has been.

It's also more expensive for me to travel to the UK from Australia than it is to travel from the US to the UK because the distance is greater.

Seriously mate, are you being serious?

If you are, I am absolutely astounded at your ignorance.

If you had ever actually heard a Welshman speaking, and an Englishman speaking, you would never say it was possible for anyone to ever confuse the two, regardless of if it was the first time they had heard it, or the thousandth time.

I don't make **** up, but you've certainly been caught making **** up, son :nut

You're a bull**** artist son, nothing more than a bull**** artist.

Again Muttley, there are over 300 million people in this country. 1 million is an insignificant amount in comparison to 300 million. I've only met a handful of people that I have known to be Welsh. None of them have ever displayed a Welsh flag.
