I remember he was being touted as the next middle weight champion. His come at you style had him take too many shots I believe. And then Sergio Martinez knocked him out. Unfortunately, he suffered a motor cycle accident. I don t think he would have been the same boxer afterwards because Lara beat him up pretty bad after his Martinez fight.
I was at the Margarito fight and I met him at the Santa Monica Pier a few days before. He had an underrated chin to be taking shots from Margarito like that and unreal punch output. He was signed to fight Canelo when the accident happened. I think that most likely would’ve been his last big fight and his prime had ended already.
