First, Let me start by saying I didn't considered myself a PW fan. But I am starting to believe in the guy. Winky is not at his prime. But he still a very good fighter that will give a very hard night to anybody. One doubt I had was if he could bang with a real top 160 fighter. Winky is not a power puncher, but PW looked extremely comfortable there. Love the fact he can put up the weight and still have the stamina to throw over 1000 punches and have speed at the end of the fight.

Now, I now there is a lot of money to be made at 147lbs. But my question is:Should PW go back to 147lbs like he is planning to do???

I understand a fight against Floyd or Cotto will represent millions. Floyd should take that fight because will be a chance to show he can beat a real elite 147lbs fighter at his prime. I am not sure Floyd can beat Williams.

Cotto. I think Cotto (and I am a fan) should stay as far away from PW as possible. May be some other time. But Cotto is walking a very thin line right now!!!

Many boxers have look real bad going down in weight the last couple of years. I am not sure PW should go down to 147lbs when he could try to clean 154 and 160 divisions. I think he has a GREAT CHANCE!!

Last, PW is not a 147lbs guy. The damage to his body will definately show later in his life if he continues to go to such a low weight. And is not fair to the other welter weights either. I think they should either go back to weight the fighters the morning of the fight. Or come up with some limit to how much weight the boxers are allow to gain from official weight in to the fight night.

    Your opinions............

He may as well go down to 147lb. Make money, boost resume etc. I agree its not fair on the other 147lbers. Williams probably wouldn't get that much credit for beating them considering he's a giant by comparison.

he came into the fight last night at 157.... 10 pounds would be light work... especially how they showed him eating

Negative... He weighted in at 157lbs. He showed up to the fight at 165lbs. Look at tale of the tape right before the start of the fight. More than a boxing fan I am talking as a health care professional here. The kidneys can only take so much dehydration.

oh well i still think they can make it... i truthfully think 147 is where they want to be... even aside from money... paul now has the option to fight guys like pavlik and so fourth so why would they still talk about going back to 147.....

it would make sense but......who would he fight?

you think any WW would wanna fight a guy who just fought at MW?.....maybe Clottey after he loses to Cotto, but thats about it, Cotto will be looking at a Pac fight or a Mosley rematch, Mosley would be looking at a Hatton, Pac, or Cotto, and noone else is a big enough draw

his best bet is chasing Pavlik or Abraham, or fighting one of the rising stars at 154, a JCC jr., Angulo, Martinez, Kirkland, or even a Duddy fight would make him money and do good for his resume, him vs. Mayweather is a pipedream, just not gonna happen

Williams should forget about 147. Cotto, Mosley, and Floyd want no parts of the Punisher.

I think the guy has done well so far but still I feel he has just been made to look better by his willingness and ability to stretch 3 weight divisions so rapidly which doesnt happen often in todays boxing.

His fights at 154 and 160 have not been against top opposition.

Yes winky is a HOF fighter but is in his late 30's like phillips was at 154.

He has lost once at 147 and has one top win over margarito.

IMO he still needs a world champ or top fighter to beat at the higher weights and even 147 to really make an impression on me.

Believe that... I never hear these guys so much as mention PW's name... They like to pretend he dosn't exist.
