One is right and one is wrong. Those who say the fight results were a robbery are right. Those who say it was a draw are wrong.
It's not about the judging because MMA gets that wrong too, it's about all the politics and circus acts that go on in boxing today. I don't like it up to a certain level. It gets weird and I'm kinda tired of it. The McGregor fanboys are about to do that to UFC which is why I hope he retires. Sometimes I just wanna see a fight without the personal BS of fans and critics and promoters, etc..
I would certainly agree with this. Problem is, this is why we have multiple judges - to provide an average of sorts and, in theory at least, make sure we get the right result. As we've now agreed, it's much easier to shade it for Castano than for Charlo... So you'd think on balance of probabilities it'd probably be a close but split decision for Castano. If it was a true 50/50 we might expect a close card either way and not be surprised by the draw card. When one fighter edges it, to get a draw you need two cards to be mildly biased in the other fighters favour at least. What I'm getting at here is that on the balance of the fight, I'd think a split decision for Castano would be fair - that's not to say that a draw on one judge is unfair, it's within the bounds of reason... but a draw overall is a bit unfair on Castano and the one crazy card spins that into something that looks much worse. I'd have to be deliberately biasing my view to give it to Charlo, it was a close fight but still with a fairly clear winner in the end IMHO... And in that situation, yes, a draw as the average of three judges cards is not satisfactory.
Awful judging, however I did make $100. At my fight parties we bet on the judges scoring the fight and there scores. Not the fight itself. That ridiculous score card was predictable based on where the fight was and who was fighting. It's a real shame cause I had it 7-5 Castano.
Tony Harrison actually has an interesting personality, one that extended beyond a basic thug act. Someone who could crack jokes and make a press conference like him is worth a lot more than the Charlos and their tired schtick.
Boxing is not more popular than ever And of course people watch for a decision Its part of the package Would you go cinema, watch the first act, then the second, but go home without watching the final act? Your bloody odd
Odd is putting it politely. To simply accept controversy and corruption as a part of the sport, sounds much like the argument some used in football against VAR. Better to let people cheat and get away with it so people would have something to discuss like it was some rich aspect of the sport that we would lose by ensuring the right people won and look at it now the sport is far better for it and nothing has been lost, not even the controversy. Also the idea that someone dreams can simply be stolen is acceptable and nothing to get bent outta shape about as he put it I find hard to accept. Boxers put their lives on their line, sacrifice, relationships, time with friends and family etc only to have what they have worked for, for perhaps decades to be stolen is not acceptable at all. He doesn't seem to understand it's not about us fans at all it's about the boxer who has been robbed.
On one hand I get what you mean, but on the other I just can't accept the pure hatred you have for Rakim. Don't get me wrong, I think he's as abrasive as the next guy, but between his foot and the views he provides us of his place of work, there's something to like about him. Ultimately your call though man.
Bunch of MMA fans here. Real boxing fans don't watch mma or even care about mma. Where is the real boxing fans?
You have never elevated yourself at all bru Talking nonsense and even saying boxing is more popular now than EVER Again I have to ask are you a teenager or just that out of touch with reality?
I honestly think he is a kid using his older siblings PC-Tablet or something I’m not even knocking younger fans because I know a few under 21 that actually understand the rules, foundation, styles and history of the sport. With this kid it’s not even close so he is NEW and just has no grasp of the sport. To also say the end result is not valued as we should just enjoy the fight is by far one of the most uneducated statements ever made on this forum and that speaks VOLUMES
When his favourite fighters wins are regularly questioned, im sure he subconsciously created this world where wins are not important Honestly, i thought Aydamn was the biggest idiot id ever seen on here but i think he has well and truly been overtook At least Aydamn was funny at times
