There's a lot of talk of Pedro being a can that's being fed to Fedor, and at this stage it might be true. This is just a thread to pay a little appreciation to a guy who carried the can during the UFC's ''dark ages''

The guys had some good wins as well as some tough losses. But there is no doubt the man is a true fighter

Pedro's biggest weakness' during his prime was sometimes he just didnt fight to his full potential. But in an era of grappler's, Pedro should be credited for bringing high level technical striking to the UFC's HW division

At his best the man was in some very entertaining fights with Barnet, Tre and Tank, and had his fair share of bad fights as well

Probably not an ATG but c'mon people show Pedro some love, he even made fights with Monson and Severn enjoyable

Pedro and Guy (he beat Arona and Saku imo) are probably the most unappreciated guys in MMA history

Rizzo was buried under two years of ring rust and didn't throw so much as one kick. unfortunately he Sapped his way through the Fedor "fight" but he has always been a warrior in the past.

The Marco Ruas student who became the best low kicker in the MMA history IMO......
That punch against Barnett is amazing ! So accurate !

Not a surprise that Pedro and Peter Aerts are good friends and train a lot together....

    5 votes...really...

I thought you guys were MMA fans

  13. Pedro is as legit as CroCop and Nog were when they were in the UFC. All three fighters were clearly past their primes and all three regarded at the top of their game at one time.

Pedro gets so much hate because be fought Fedor, people try to downgrade his past accomplishments. Nog and CroCop on the other hand were hyped up by the UFC as being still at the top of their game when they fought UFC fighters (when they clearly wasnt in their primes anymore).

Great thread, Stoo! I was getting ready to do a thread just like this when Rob linked me to this one. I've had Pedro in my all time top 10 heavyweights for years. Looks like most of the stuff I was going to post has already been included. Tommy put in the Abbott and Barnett videos. Rob put in the Arlovski gif.

This is the Severn ko: http://www.bebo.com/c/video?FlashBoxId=6293169660

Here is a the Arlovski replay just after the fight: http://vimeo.com/5994503

This is footage from the his first fight with Randy, a fight many thought that Rizzo won: http://mma-core.pl/?p=1753
