Who the **** watches BIG TIME boxing in December? Lets wait until Cinco de Mayweather. May 5th, 2009. That is a serious fightnight. Oscar de la Hoya vs. El Hijo del Leon. Sounds like a damn Monster Movie, to quote Apollo Creed. "La Ravanche"..."The Revenge" Oscar de la Hoya is an even bigger fool/idiot/moron than even I thought he was if he thinks he can beat Miguel Cotto. Miguel outboxed and out sped ****ing SUGAR SHANE who himself owns Oscar's Golden Ass inside those ropes. Cotto is too fast, too strong, and is priming out, and the highest weight he will fight at is probably 150, and Oscar gets no final title shot. All this means is a severe ass beating for Oscar in December, and he goes out with a whimper. (Theres a sadistic side of me that wants to witness this) Forbes did that to his face, imagine what Cotto will do. Cotto is the man at WELTERWEIGHT and Oscar is a Jr. middle. Oscar, take Jack's advice, and let sleeping dogs lie. But Saturday night, the PERFECT opponent for Oscar is fighting in Mexico. Think about it. The son getting revenge for the Father and all of Mexico. MASSIVE, record breaking PPV numbers and an HBO miniseries, building up to the fight for 4 weeks. This would sell out the MGM in hours, and all venues would be sold out for closed circuit. Julio is still a bit green, but is closing in on 40 fights as a pro. By January, he will be there. He could fight say, twice more this year, against Hector Jr. and say Fransisco Bojado as a tune up. Then he could spend Jan-April training and sparring in preparation for the Fight of the Millenium 2. This would be huge, and a 36 year old, depleted Oscar against a younger but inexperienced opponent would be a lot more even a contest than watching Cotto gut Oscar like a deer for hunting season.
