This is an un realistic eventually to say the very least , but lets consider it :

The 147 lb weight division is recognised as the best division in the world yes ????

With Floyd and Cotto tied up and all this talk of Mosley Berto , Williams etc etc etc , why not have 4 of the top current WW's fight off in a tournament i.e. :

    Mosley - Berto
    Williams - Clottey

Winner takes all !!!!!!! P.S. if this was to come true who do fancy to be 2 & 0 by the end of it ??????

include Cotto and Williams, even Margarito and do a double elimination tourney.

    Edit - Collazo to

    1. Collazo-Berto 2
    2. Clottey-Margo
    3. Cotto-Margarito
    4. Mosley-Williams

    Winner 1 vs Winner 4

    Winner 2 vs Winner 3

    Loser 1 vs Loser 4

    etc etc

I think Players involved should be

    Mosley
    Williams
    Berto
    Clottey
    Collazo
    Cintron
    Quintana
    Margarito

something like this might be intriguing...

    1 - Mosley vs. Berto
    2 - Williams vs. Clottey
    3 - Collazo vs. Cintron
    4 - Margarito vs. Quintana
    -----------------------------
    Winner 1 vs. Winner 2 = 1A
    Winner 3 vs. Winner 4 (interesting to see a possible Cintron/Marg III) = 1B
    Loser 1 vs. Loser 2 = 2A
    Loser 3 vs. Loser 4 = 2B
    -----------------------------
    Winner 1A vs. 1B
Wild Card fight 2A vs. 2B
    ------------------------
Last remaining fighters go head to head facing either
    Pac
    Cotto
    or Mayweather :smoke

I like this as I actually think if there was enough money on the table the 8 fighters you mentioned would participate!!! Not sure about Williams as he's have to commit himself to 147 until the end 2010, not sure he could do that. But why would any of the others (barring maybe Mosley) say no!!!

Idk man. Boxing has sort of lost its way in that sense. Boxers nowsdays have forgotten that at the end of the day theyre entertainers as all other athletes and performers. They are paid to represent and entertain our country and their respective audience.

All of a sudden we're arguing over purses and ****. They are arguing over how they are going to split the millions of dollars that we ****in' pay them to entertain us. Instead of getting the show we want to see, we are getting fighters that play it safe and dont risk getting KO'd. Fight in their backyards. Never go for broke.

I just hope a superstar arises and brings us back to the glory days and inspires others to fight the best, beat the best, go for the kill, and at the end of the day...make sure the fights we want to see get made. Never ***** about criticism. Never moan about money, place, or opponent. Just live, fight and die in the name of boxing and true warrior showmanship. Because even if they fail. They will have garnered respect from the fans...which is more than money can buy or purses can guarantee.

Perhaps the proposed SMW league is the way forward!?!? Fighters are very afraid of losing as it takes away a lot of oppurtunities, and they seem to get written off after 1 defeat these days. A league would provide the safety of having an off night or a tight defeat and still coming out victorious overall!!

Seems like something fighters and promoters might buy in to!?!! And the winner (and probably the runner-up) is going to be a huge star and probably P4P material, so there's great reward.

Bob Arum would never let anything like this happen. It would render him completely irrelevant. I do think it would generate a lot more money for his fighters in the long run.
