The Perfect Storm (No pun intended)... Kirkland vs Ishida!

First things first, wow... I must admit, since his prison stint (which was due to his own actions) Kirkland just hasn't looked the same to me. I can rehash and argue all the things that have already been said, these factors attributed to JK looking so terrible.

A) Prison- clearly there was some ring rust still present...

B) Change of trainer- the training JK had with A. Wolf and "Pops" better prepared James for the style of fighting he employs in the ring, ie sparring 2 guys at once, heavy bag coming at you attached to a truck, etc. Kenny Adams, no matter what he says, was different. In this case I feel "different" was wrong for James. He needs Anne back.

C) The tragedy in Japan- Ishida was never more prepared, or motivated for a fight in his life, than for this one. I read an interview on Ring, he wasn't going to be denied.

D) The stoppage- No three KD rule in effect, JC should have counted, period. Assess the fighter, then make a decision. Don't just run up and thrust your groin in the guys face because he got dropped a third time. I honestly think JC didn't even know the rules of a bout he was officiating. He can be clearly be heard saying 3 KD's was the reason why the fight was stopped when asked by James... not that he was in no condition to fight, or badly hurt. That said, it did appear that James wasn't taking the punches well. However, there should have been a count. Montiel, who took a way harder shot, and was in worse shape, received a count.

I think these elements combined to form a perfect scenario (or storm) in which Kirkland was doomed to lose. Especially coupled with all the other upsets this weekend. Maybe it's all the radiation in the air. :!:


And one last thing, to all you ignorant, racist ba5tards that come on here to spew your hatred: Kill yourself so humanity can have some progress. Please? Hell, I don't really hear about Mexicans, Armenians, etc. Maybe it's a fascination with black skin? Curiousity? Fear? It doesn't make sense. A normal person doesn't seek out what they hate, or despise, just to talk about it... over and over and over and over. Move on in life. You see an article about crime, athletes, race relations, etc. DON'T READ IT! You might read about black people, and oh how you hate them! Get better educated, then open your mouths.
