No Lewis`s legs were gone he was wobbling uncontrollably and disorientated, he would have been knocked cold by another punch.

 

McCall and Rahman caught him sweet, he walked right into McCall`s right while throwing his own wild right, against Tua he was backing off taking the power out of the blows.

 

Basically if you hit him as hard as Rahman or McCall did then he would go.

 

Lewis had a decent chin. It wasn't iron, though.

He fell into the ref's chest. By preventing a 2nd knockdown, and more visible stoppage, Lewis allowed to build up a deniability it as a " lottery punch " and his chin was fine. No it wasn't, but perhaps it helped him overcome the quick stoppage by thinking that way. Those with the better chins either don't go down, or get up in better condition then he did form the same punch.

Lewis had an average chin, which was suspect vs punchers on the level of McCall or Rhaman. A bigger problem for Lewis could have been his ego. A smart fighter, Lewis went at the bigger punchers with range to take them out before they had an opportunity to land for the most part and did not offer any re-matches to the fighters that gave him a round go ( Mercer, Bruno, or Klitschko )

 

Vitali had him more hurt that Tua did. Lewis was 1.5 year and maybe 5 pounds heavier form one his his career best performances over Rhaman. Vitali made Lewis look bad.

 

Do you know what I’ll always remember...Evander Holyfield predicted that he would knock Lennox out in the 3rd round of their first fight ...and if you look at the tape ..Lennox literally ran the entire third round ...That tells me even he knew he had a weak chin lol

He fought ancient Holyfield and still almost lost but prime Holyfield and Holmes would box his ears off!
He said same things for Mercer and Tua...just too confident man who maybe forgott that Rahman and McCall knocked his big boring ass!

 

On, Lewis had his cup and guard hiked up extra high for the 2nd fight. This helped with the body shots. I was sitting next to an older timer, as the fight was a bout to start and he said " Look at that!. It's embarrassing the heavyweight champion of he world can't take a body shot. "

Holfyield was could not get past Lewis jab ( Good jabbers gave Holyfield lot of problems and beat him. Example ( Bowe, Moorer, Lewis ) , and Lewis wans't going to allow Holyfield the chance to counter or fight dirty on the inside. Lewis wont the 2d fight cleanly 8-4. Some on the forum, like Blade thinks Holfyield won the 2nd fight with Lewis. Now that hilarious.

I'm no Lewis fan, but his chin wasn't that weak. It wasn't the best out there, but not that bad either.
When he was stopped, he was hit with clean hard shots. Most pros would go down from such a shot.
Look at Ali, he was floored by a cruiseweight like Cooper. If the shot hits you flush and in the right part of the face, you go down.
