[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_criminal_law"]"German criminal law[/ame] (§ 33) distinguishes "asthenic affect" (fear) from "sthenic affect" (anger). Excessive self-defense out of asthenic affect is not punishable" Haye has already said he had been threatened by Chisora who then approached him took off his jacket and raised his fist
Actually I studied laws and history from 94 to 98 but I work as an accountant now. So you can say that I have some basic knowledge of the german law system
basic is about right... "Excessive self-defense out of asthenic affect is not punishable" - see above
No, he was busy doing your mother. I just try to get the facts together and what Haye did was much more than pure self defence.
I hate the phrase "black eye for boxing," almost as much as I hate it when an ex fighter gets cancer or whatnot, some idiot always has to bring out the old chestnut, "[insert name here], ex heavyweight champ, is now fighting the biggest fight of his life against [insert disease here]." Tiresome.
IF Haye was afraight of Chisora why did he show up at the press conference, badmouth Chisora and just stood there when Chisora confronted him? He could just have retreated from the room but chose to start a brawl by hitting Chisora first with a bottle...
So, you expected Haye to turn and walk in the other direction when Chisora came down to confront him? You do realise Chisora started badmouthing Haye first right? And that Chisora pushed the microphone in his face? And that he walked down with about two other people behind him? And that he has a history of **** like this which was well on display all weekend? This was always going to get ugly. **** poor security should not have allowed these two to get anywhere near each other.
won't stand up in court mate - He only has to be afraid in that split second. Chisora marched up to him took off his jacket, got in his face and raised his fist. Quite rightly at that point Haye can claim he thought he was about to be attacked and so he defended himself. Chisora will say he had no intention of starting a physical fight and was just going to square up to him - case closed no further action.
